When you gaslight people and tell them their experiences of empty grocery store shelves aren't real, what they hear is "we are just as bad as Republicans, who will say anything, no matter how untrue, for political gain." You end up sowing the cynicism that fuels fascism.

That is weird and bad. Many shelves are empty where I live, too.

Nothing more galling than some rich NYT fucker saying there are no shortages, and claiming Snopes has debunked this, but when I go to the damn supermarket the shelves are half-empty.
