It really is the case these days if you are to the right of Hasan Piker, you’re a “Nazi.” In the 1990s, the German AfD as it is now would’ve been just a fairly standard center-liberal party, going by their positions. Now according the press they are evil incarnate and Mega-MechaHitler.

I remember all of that! I also had friends messaging me at the start of the pandemic claiming that masks don’t work who later became extremely, ardently pro-masking. And you know what, it’s ok to change your mind given new evidence or in this case re-evaluation of the existing data.
What I object to is when someone treats me like the bad guy for being able to recall quite recent history, even if it paints people in a negative light. That I strongly refuse to play along with.
I won’t call them out by name, but I also had a friend (who is still a friend) insist that no one had ever said “hug a Chinese person” and that it did not happen that for two months the liberals claimed that believing Covid was a threat was racist. But all that stuff occurred. I remember; I was there. A lot of it is now “conspiracy-theorized” and memory-holed and more will be in the future as the truth is sanded down to what feels good.

It depends on how complex the book is (and some other factors), but I can generally read 10 pages in about 6-8 minutes. No, I do not speed read as speed-reading isn’t really a thing. Trust me, I understand with full comprehension what’s occurring. I’ve gotten a perfect score on every reading comprehension test I have ever taken.
My mom could read much faster than me when she was in her prime. She could burn through 10 pages (also with full comprehension) in 3-4 minutes.
So I guess it’s at least partly genetic.
