LLC Their Mistake

After the retailer filed for bankruptcy one couple was left with a warehouse full of abandoned mannequins and a price tag of nearly $250,000 to dispose of it.

This couple made many, many mistakes. I could not find that they were any part of a current registered LLC in Massachusetts or Connecticut, which was the most grievous error.

This makes them personally liable for debts and costs, which is why they’d be selling their home to deal with this. You should never do this. There’s a reason LLCs are used and that they didn’t spin one up is totally on them.

Also, buying a commercial warehouse as your sole source of income? Another version of the landlords who make risky investments and complain when they don’t pan out. Sucks to be them, but they did it to themselves.
