Getting older has meant the sad realization that many of the liberal ideas I believed were based on just as much superstition, hope, and fear as any of the conservative garbage ideology foisted on me when I was young.

Where to go from that? I’m not sure yet.

I've concluded if Trump were an erudite fitness model there would be little resistance to his policies. The hashtag resistance consistently exposes the nature of its opposition to be mostly cosmetic.

Yep. This is why I do not school with liberals, but rather school liberals.

If Trump were “cool” like Obama, most liberals (90%+) would fall right in line with the current policies. Sure, you’d hear minor protests and bellyaching here and there — but mostly, nothing.

Note once again that I very much am not a Trump supporter and have the same thoughts about him as I did about Obama: that he is a banker-coddling extremely corrupt war criminal.

But Trump is ugly and kind of repellent; louche and déclassé. That is enough in the average liberal mind to condemn him. For whatever reason, liberals are appearance-obsessed. This includes physical appearance and extends to the intellectual appearance of ideas, no matter their policy results.

Liberals for some reason like to pretend that the human sexual urge is not as strong as the others that humans experience (hunger, thirst, respiration) — and though it isn’t immediately obligatory, it is no less strong.

Why do liberals need to pretend this obviously false idea is real? Conservatives, though their solutions are misguided and counterproductive, do not pretend the human sex drive is some trivial urge that can just be tossed aside willy-nilly. They know just how strong it is for the vast majority of people, women included.

We are a deeply puritan society, but not even in any productive ways.

I accidentally installed the “new, improved” version of Open With and realized…it no longer worked. At all. Instead of just having a convenient right-click menu in the browser to open a page in another browser, there was no right-click menu and no possibility thereof. This is all due to Quantum and Web Extensions, which is just the harebrained attempt to turn Firefox into Chrome.

To even get the fucking thing to work now, you have to now install some janky “helper file.” I don’t even know if this will function on Mac as those are the only directions I could find. I am sure I could hack it into functionality, but why bother?

This is utterly functionality-destroying. It left me sputtering with rage at how horribly Mozilla handled the transition and all the bad ideas they’ve implemented over the past half-dozen years or so.

I really wish I could un-donate the money I donated to Mozilla.

Their failure will make me smirk. It is inevitable.
