The markets don’t know anything, especially short term. If they are right, it’s by accident.

In 100 years, there will basically be no factory jobs undertaken by humans.
Either because there is not enough civilization left to sustain a manufacturing base or because robots are all doing them. Either way, it’ll be a much different world.

Deleted all my Tumblr bookmarks. Pointless going there now. Most things are banned as their AI is so bad it’s nuking illustrations of fish and photos of sumo wrestlers.
Now that I think about it, I bet this is really about Verizon and net neutrality, as Tumblr was a hotbed of net neutrality activism and awareness-raising, particularly among young people.
Porn is always the canard, but preventing the younger set even being aware of net neutrality would be very, very worthwhile to Verizon.

Exactly. Nagle’s view was the mainstream left position up until 3-5 years ago, so it’s odd to see her and this view portrayed as abhorrently mega-racist.
Compassion isn’t a plan. Open borders only works if countries are roughly equal in development and culture, and not essentially controlled by mega-corps. How is this not clear to every delusional open borders supporter?
The one and only reason I didn’t join the Democratic Socialists of America is that they are for open borders, explicitly so. I can’t associate with any group so fervently moronic about an issue no matter its other benefits.
I don’t believe Tumblr banning nsfw content really has anything to do with porn at all. I suspect it’s a deliberate purge of dissident voices by a large corporate force. After all, Verizon now owns Tumblr and Tumblr is by far the most leftist-attracting site on the internet. And Verizon, as evil companies go, is very damn evil.
Why wouldn’t they get rid of the largest leftie congregation if they could do so credibly? Of course they would. And they are.

I really am completely fascinated how with at every turn, Mozilla managed to make the worst possible decisions regarding Firefox. They would’ve done better with coin flips or entrail reading.
Partially my fascination is due to my witnessing it in real time over a decade — it’s rare to watch an implosion where there were so many warnings combined with so little meaningful action and to be able to have a front-row seat to it all, with most of it out in the open (as Mozilla was a fairly open organization). Most failures are hidden; this one was right there in front of you in all its ugliness.
Still, too bad. They had every chance and threw it all away.
This, of course, will be used to mainly clamp down on already-marginalized communities as it always is, and just the threat of banning will make the platform less vital and interesting. I don’t consume porn blogs, but many of the blogs I did visit on Tumblr had nsfw content often or occasionally. Those will all be banned now.
Time to abandon that platform altogether.
