There were no pull-ups done in that video. Sorry. When you only go halfway down, it’s more than twice as easy. Try full-hang and see how many you can do.

Aye. Multi-pass overwrite DOES NOT work on SSDs. This is why the DoD and other high-security places mandate SSDs be destroyed if they contained top secret or secret data, as they cannot be re-used. The data on an SSD is impossible to delete reliably. Even vendors who claim to have a secure delete capability probably don’t.
