Radicand

It is strange. When one observes that “Huh, this works fine in other countries, even countries that are far less rich and developed than the US,” one is called a “radical” and cries of “impossible” are heard everywhere.

If being called a radical means that I observe reality, well I guess I’m a radical then.

And I spent my afternoon writing up my opinion as a security professional and CISSP on if and how the CCPA applies to the company where I work.

Conclusion: it does apply. ๐Ÿ™

Well, more paperwork for everyone! If it weren’t for paperwork, what would anyone do?

And “ACRONYM” itself is merely a ideogram that represents the idea for “not an acronym” in another, completely different language, of which all records have been lost.

I have already seen tweet threads about this, mostly from “feminist” white women but others, too.

Wrong Default

โ€œYou will be required to do wrong no matter where you go. It is the basic condition of life, to be required to violate your own identity. At some time, every creature which lives must do so. It is the ultimate shadow, the defeat of creation; this is the curse at work, the curse that feeds on all life. Everywhere in the universe.โ€

Spent

I spent my morning hacking into a SQL server instance for which the associated account and password was nuked and no SA account.

What’d you do this morning? (Yes, I got in. I always get in.)

Act Up

Yes, great acting. Christopher Reeve is the only one who has ever shown how a pair of dorky glasses could work as a disguise — because it’s not about the glasses. Those are just a prop for Superman’s/Clark Kent’s own benefit, to remind him who he is (or is not) when the glasses are on.

The actual disguise is every single thing about him is completely different when he’s Clark Kent. The glasses are merely an affordance for easily inhabiting that character.
