Making It

Puff pastry pierogies. Better if any cheese is in the house, but not necessary.

Just a Stutter

I’m a speech pathologist EXPERT and that’s just a STUTTER. Forgetting a basic fact like how long it is until the next election in which you are running is definitely not a sign of cognitive decline. Thinking it’s anything other than a stutter is, like, racism or something. Or some other -ism that’s bad, whatever makes me look better and you look worse. Believe me because I know these things. As I said I am an EXPERT.

Won’t Get Fooled Again

I’m glad the econners’ (double meaning very much intended) nonsense and bullshittery is getting righteously slapped down.

Markdown Price

I hate when almost anyone talks to me about the stock market because it’s everything I can do to control myself and not say, “Everything you just said is the most wrong it could possibly be. If you put what you just told me into a machine that specialized in making something as wrong as possible, that machine would melt down into slag because even it had never experienced something so vastly incorrect.”

When I talk to regular people about the stock market (which I try to avoid), I realize regular people should have absolutely nothing to do with the stock market ever.

“Boomer remover” is somehow even better than “OK Boomer.” Gen Z and younger millennial humor is the best.

And accurate take. The Boomer generation has caused most of the issues that are besetting the country, and like Joe Biden dismiss any valid plaints about the very existence of the problems and their culpability therein.

“Boomer remover” could not be more deserved. I’m no advocate for the death of anyone, but how’s it feel to get a taste of your own bitter medicine, boomers?

Garland

I’ve been watching Devs. I can see why “smart” people don’t like Alex Garland’s work. He leads you down these paths where your prejudices and expectations cause you to assume certain things are going to occur…and then they do not, and not only that, the narrative sort of punishes you for thinking those things.

“Smart” people do not like this sort of rug-pulling. They want to be comforted, told their opinions and suppositions are correct, that their ideas are scintillating when really they are merely clinquant.

This is why Garland’s works are disliked by this class — the dominant one among pundits, white feminists and the like.
