Oh, a lot of people believe things are science fiction these days even after they happen. This I find truly bizarre. Quantum computers is a recent example of that. People were saying that they were “impossible” and “science fiction” after teams had built working examples.

We live in a world moving so fast that often working tech exists years before the pronouncements of its impossibility even start being proclaimed.

Dealing and Looking

There Is Only One Way Out of the COVID-19 Economic Crisis. Itโ€™s time for a new New Deal.

It’s true, because the Covid-19 economic crisis does not really have anything to do with the pandemic. The economic dislocations and trauma are a symptom of pre-existing conditions. Just as with actual Covid-19 those who suffer the most are those with already-present co-morbidities. Our economy was already gravely ill — the sickness was merely concealed by what the press chose to cover and who they saw as mattering.

This is why what could’ve been a minor recession will become the Greatest Depression; this is why many who are knocked out of the economy will never be employed again; this is why the downturn could and likely will last a decade.

Our economy was already wounded, walking dead, but the pandemic just revealed that. This is something that’s been obvious to those who bothered to look for years.
