I plan to commit at least 78 thoughtcrimes today alone. Maybe more.

Sham
If liberals didn’t have fun shaming people, one wonders if they’d have any fun at all.
Evidence suggests “no.”
Dance
Great cover. I always liked this song. It just has such a nice melody.
And that drummer — holy crap, he’s great.
Speech
We need to oppose four core principles that are silencing speech:
1) Disagreements threaten personal safety
2) It's possible to be contaminated by association
3) Intent doesn't matter
4) If in doubt, get the authorities involved@EmilyYoffe.

Good thread. I won’t say the “progressives” are as bad as conservatives, but it’s certainly trending that way.
Nope to Hope
Instead of lockdowns, teach people how to socialize safely in the time of coronavirus.
That’s the way to do it.
Fucking stupid-ass motherfucking liberals. Fuck them. They are as bad as the anti-maskers.
Lockdowns were always, always intended to be short-term. We totally biffed that and now it’s just too late. The liberal idea of “stay inside for a year or two” is a non-starter, and pretty much always was. That is a fucking virtue-signaling moral scold ascetic fantasy.
Between the disphit anti-maskers and the tosspot libs, we had no hope. No hope at all.
Conduct
I wonder if the same mooks who think conductors “do nothing but wave their hands” are the same people who believe government doesn’t have any role?
Probably so. Very probably so.
Brahms
I never cared much for Brahms. Just so stilted and stuffy. But Yuja Wang has changed my mind. Watch this below, or just listen. She plays her Brahms just so warm and mischievous. It’s great.
And no sheet music in front of her. Imagine being able to play a piece that long and complex and not worry you might get lost. What. How.
That version is so, so good, people. Now I know how Brahms is supposed to sound.
Cancel Me Harder
I know people will hate me for this — join the fucking club — but I think most (but not all) desire to transition to another gender is really a futile wish to accrue the benefits of both preponderant genders while attempting to negate the disadvantages.
Given that, I think most trans people would not exist in a society that did not enforce gender roles and stereotypes so strictly.
In other words, this emerges from cultural and personal trauma. None of this should be controversial, but anything with a hint of truth these days is.
When Bam
i feel like centrists and liberals dont realize that the thing that radicalized most people wasnt trump, but obama, and realizing that no matter how promising the politician, american capitalism will fuck you no matter what
— p.e. moskowitz (@_pem_pem) August 13, 2020
Same with me, to the extent that I wasn’t already radicalized. Obama could’ve done so much good and chose not to. He had the opportunity, the political capital and the ability (no matter what idiot centrists say), and he chose getting rich over doing the right thing.
Obama “didn’t have any scandals.” Except what should have been scandals weren’t: he presided over and encouraged the largest loss of black wealth in modern history, allowed 10+ million Americans to be brutally evicted from their homes, prosecuted whistleblowers harshly, and drone-bombed civilians on a then-unprecedented scale.
All of those should’ve been scandals but weren’t. Obama was a terrible president and the country was made vastly worse off because of him.
Wild Talent
Here’s an absurdly-young Dolores O’Riordan and The Cranberries in surprisingly high quality considering it’s from 1993:
I like that there are lots of tight shots so you can see her facial expressions, and how shy yet confident — almost cocky– that she is. What a wild talent.
ูุฑุญู ูุง ุงูู, Dolores.
Fade
“Fade to Black” is and has always been my favorite Metallica song since the 1980s. I listened to it so much I grew tired of it and so hardly ever queue it up now.
But this piano cover is outstanding and shows just how great Hetfield & co. were as composers.
That sparse reprise of the main theme near the end mixed with the rapid arpeggio is brilliant in the original, and her treatment of it does it justice.
Inappropriation
Western Society, people scream and cry about "cultural appropriation"
Go to the actual country that you're supposedly appropriating
People there will be ecstatic you speak two words of their language and do anything "cultural" in any way
— Alexander "Chadicus Rex" Cortes PhD (BroScience) (@AJA_Cortes) August 12, 2020
My experience too. In Egypt, people loved me because I made an effort to speak some Arabic and to learn about the culture there. Note that my Arabic was absolutely terrible but they cared that I even tried.
White American liberals are “concerned” with cultural appropriation by proxy, attempting to help people who, first of all, don’t need help, and second of all, generally want you to participate in their culture. It’s all a show, a sham, to score virtue points by moral scolds.
Fuck that noise.

For the last decade, their management has been nothing but full-on idiots. We are seeing the results of that now.
M4AN
Medicare for All critics have been totally discredited by the pandemic.
These critics should never be treated as experts ever again.
They should never be given a media platform to spew their discredited propaganda. https://t.co/d0FO3KFfTM

Indeed. They now look like the total assclowns they’ve always been.
