Keep It

I have seen it. I thought it was ok. I watched it around 1984, on satellite at my grandparents’ place. Standard 1980s horror fare.

Use of Weapons

The body language is a result of the effort to prevent the other guy from being able to take the knife easily. Of course, in reality one should only draw a weapon the very moment one intends to use it. This is what real murderers and contract killers do. The reason should be obvious.

This guy is just showing off pointlessly. But he understands the biggest risk of pulling out a weapon: someone tougher and bolder and more of a sociopath than you takes it from you and then uses it on you.

Happenstance

That’s what we all thought during the 1990s. It was a very optimistic time where everything seemed to be getting better.

We were so very wrong. But it felt vastly different in ways that are difficult to describe now and it all seems a bit unreal. But it happened. I was there and I remember it well.
