Gymmed

This article is men-focused and a bit misogynistic, but the advice doesn’t really differ for women. The below is 100% the case.

TRUTH 1: YOUR GYM IS YOUR ENEMY

You’ve seen it a hundred times โ€“ the same thing I saw upon walking into my first brand-name franchise gym: roughly 5 percent taken up by free weights; 5 percent by stretching areas; 50 percent by cardio machines; 50 percent by weight machines. Any reasonable person might conclude that cardio and weight machines are the best gear for getting fit. They’re not. Nobody thinks they are โ€“ not even the people who make them or the gym owners who buy them.

So glad I learned all this in the military, and have been safely ignoring standard fitness baloney since then. What’s in that article is how you actually get strong, resilient and more capable. Everything else is just wasting time.

I know, as with most “intellectuals” and with (for example) Ian Welsh, there is huge bias against weightlifting. And part of that is I think because it fucking works. And it’s hard. That combo makes most people hate a thing before any other factors even come into play.

Not everything in this article is correct. For instance, dumbbells are also a great way to train and hit your stability/secondary muscles even harder (for certain lifts) than barbell lifts ever do. And getting to 10 percent body fat isn’t all that difficult. But the piece gets most of it right and that’s better than 99% of fitness articles.

Confusion Reactor

This is so very true.

The confusion we’re describing here might sound minor to someone who’s never done professional IT supportโ€”but at any kind of scale, it adds up very quickly. A single, badly confused employee can require several hours to sort outโ€”particularly when the support they actually need may very well be for a home computer, which hasn’t been set up for corporate access and control in the first place.

One single confused computer-incompetent person can keep a helpdesk person tied up for days at a time, sometimes. It’s happened to me and I’ve seen it happen.

For a sister company (note: I didn’t manage the IT for this company. If I did, this would’ve never happened) where a user forgot her passwords and changed some to something unknown, I spent more than two days fixing all the problems this caused, including a complete remote rebuild of her machine. One user. More than two days of me doing almost nothing else! (And this isn’t unusual. Some of the worst users basically need their own full-time helpdesk person.)

It’s shocking when you realize how little most people know about how to use their own computers — even very easy things, like what actual applications they open to complete their daily work.

How Change

This is certainly what most liberal men are taught — that it’s damaging to a woman to ask her out or to have sex with her, that it’s not feminist, that any approach is harassment. And it’s only gotten worse over the years!

Of course the so-called “alphas” are successful because they just ignore all this horseshit and do what they want. So the incels are often right that the worst/most pushy men end up dating a whole lot more, because they utterly ignore “feminist” dating advice.

Once I also ignored this advice, I was a lot more successful too.

No Open

Very sagacious thread by Aella. This is exactly why I read her.

Her insight is also very similar to a post I had been pondering for a few weeks, but she’s basically written it for me so why bother. The gist is that OnlyFans and “WAP” and such are signs of increased prudishness and lack of openness rather than promiscuity (as is often assumed).

Glad I am not the only one who has picked up on this enormous cultural change. She also recognizes that sex is not some minor, whimsical activity but a basic human drive — something liberals (fucking absurd dipshits) assiduously deny for some reason.

Fuck the algorithm. Destroy it all. Burn it all down and start over.
