We deleted the production database by accident.

WTF. Bad architecture. Even if you have users with “delete” rights in production, which is sometimes unavoidable, where’s the transaction log backups? How could seven hours (potentially 24 hours in worst case) of data be lost?

The company’s infrastructure I manage, the most data they could ever lose in Prod would be 15 minutes worth. If literally every DB were deleted, I could have them back up in a few minutes or so with little data lost. (They are a low-transaction company. For a high-transaction company, I’d make this five minutes.)

This isn’t hard, really. But you have to do the work.

I’ve encountered that! A girlfriend’s near-80 grandfather drove like a maniac. Skillfully, not like a typical old person, but speeding everywhere, inadvisable passes, the works.

I asked him why he drove so…spiritedly and he said (and I quote), “You never know when I’m going to kick off! Got to get there fast before I bite it!”

It’s horrifying to realize, but I think Americans actually prefer pure trash food like Little Debbies and Twinkies and such over actual esculent pastries and baked fare.

Inverse correlation. Tattoos are often a sign of lack of self-confidence, and people who aren’t self-confident aren’t generally freaky in bed. Reason should be obvious.
