Franklin County overdose deaths up nearly 75% over 2019.
Knew this was going to happen. This will occur all over, too. When you take away people’s jobs and force them indoors for months at a time, it’s just expected.

I propose we retire use of the term โtraditionalโ when referring to neoclassical architecture. 1) It intentionally centers racial constructions of whiteness as a de facto condition and 2) is inaccurate both culturally and architecturally. https://t.co/8R7FBCsTFG

I propose that’s a dumbass idea and that you’re a dipshit.
The left’s language policing never stops, does it?
here's the first proof, that derives the pythagorean theorem from the impossibility of perpetual motion (and, implicitly, that the concept of torque is meaningful and behaves nicely wrt rotations). i cannot claim to really understand what is going on here pic.twitter.com/CuA0OdAiPq

Conceputally, I find that really easy to understand. How could it be any other way? That seems absurdly basic to me. But then again, I never have any problem with concepts.
Sort of like "Hollywood ugly", these people's faces and bodies don't look like those of people in long term poverty https://t.co/3WYfpB23nN

No they do not. First of all, not obese. Second, Amy Adams is 46. When my mother was 46, she looked 70. I grew up with 16-year-olds who looked rougher than she does at 46, no exaggeration. She looks angry but cute in that photo, not beaten-down and haggard.
Just poverty cosplay is all. Never will watch that movie.
The conservatives, generally, want terrible things. So terrible I don’t talk about them much.
But the liberals/left also largely want terrible things, just different ones. They have some hope of change, of being swayed, so that’s why I criticize them so much. There could be a better world with the left. Probably won’t be, but could be. And that’s important.
Also, I just really dislike cycling. I don’t want to be that close to people and I don’t want people behind me where I can’t see what they are doing without some protection.
No thank you.
But by far the most likely thing you will see a car doing is… nothing. It sits idle for 95% of the time. https://t.co/gJNhSFMeas

Oh, who gives a fuck. So does my bathroom but I still want it.
What a dipshit way to frame anything. Fuck.
There is this also: https://t.co/M9V5A2Xit8
— Borghert Jan Borghmans (@StripyMoggie) October 13, 2020
I’d rather die than take a bicycle when it’s over 80 degrees or under 55 degrees.
That’s a complete non-starter for me (and many people). You might not have bicycled when it’s 40 degrees and spitting rain in your face, but I have. It’s fucking terrible.
I hate podcasts and smartphones.
I love this because itโs a call out of wrongspeak but the calvinball nature of attacking targets means they donโt include the correct language because any such statement would itself be vulnerable to future callous https://t.co/r5avjyoxBb

That’s the IdPol game, isn’t it? Endless and rapid alteration of language so the rubes and deplorables can’t keep up, a neverending cavalcade of lexical shifts that no one normal could ever hope to learn in time? Then when someone not invested in identity games can’t remember the latest 500 offensive words, blast ’em.
I’m more aware of these bullshit artists than most, and I had no idea “sexual preference” was now offensive.
Using words is offensive. Let’s ban them all.
You Must Not โDo Your Own Researchโ When It Comes To Science.
FUCK THIS.
You absolutely must do your own research or you end up deluded by experts in sway to some political agenda. For instance, recently:
All wrong, and all from experts. But I knew masks worked, and even protected the wearer, because I did the research. And this expert failure happens all the time.
Except, for almost all of us, we canโt. Even those of us with excellent critical thinking skills and lots of experience trying to dig up the truth behind a variety of claims are lacking one important asset: the scientific expertise necessary to understand any finds or claims in the context of the full state of knowledge of your field.
I don’t care about “almost all of us.” I care about what I can research and know. And it’s a lot because I am capable of it. Anyway, 99% of experts don’t even know the “full state of knowledge” of their field. Often, they are 10 years out of date because that’s the easy path. But I walk the hard path because I can.
So I will continue to do my own research. I don’t give a rip that the majority cannot.
The left/liberal contingent has this weirdo and totally disphit idea that you can, from the outside and with a glance, tell if a relationship is abusive knowing nothing about the people in it at all.
Identity politics fucked everything.
Why do African immigrants do better in the US than African Americans? I'm trying to find sources for income/educational attainment of immigrants *when they come over*, but am only finding sources of *what they have today*.
— Aella (@Aella_Girl) October 14, 2020
Immigrants are often absurdly ambitious. A bit of self-selection there. I served with a Ugandan-American dude in the army (who was my closest friend while I was in) named Lwasa who was one of the most ambitious people I have ever met. Sorry that I lost touch with him.
Anyway, that ambition and the lack of suffering from systemic racism since birth means that these African immigrants are often extremely successful.
This is how Social Security is already being cut, by the way. Inflation is a good bit higher than this for the goods people actually buy and need (probably around 3%), so this is a substantial cut. And those de facto cuts keep occurring.
So even if SSI is not eliminated I wouldn’t count on it for much, especially if you are younger than 45 or so.
Twitter, can you help me find the artist of this comic so I can get their permission to tattoo it on my face**

I am glad to know I am not the only one whose ambition is largely driven by spite.
Hey, it works!
