What They Hate

There is no one idea that caused Mozilla and Firefox to fail. In some ways, it’s not even their fault; they followed the only ethos that was available to them just as most people and organizations do. Right now that is one of authoritarianism and removing control from the user and making all into a worthless consumption device.

They are still worthy of blame, though, because there were tons of people (like me) telling them they were going to fail, and why. In fact, I got banned for Reddit for this after the Mozilla devs whined so much about me doing exactly this. (Note that I did not violate any Reddit rules — they just did not like having a competent, articulate, and correct opponent.)

It’s still sad being able to predict something so, well, predictable and then watch it play out just as you knew it would. It’s like when you know you’re going to fall and can’t do anything about it.

Of course, removing all useful extensions was the final nail in the coffin and one of the single most business-destroying moves I’ve ever seen any company make, but even that was just one of many colossally poor decisions in a long list of them.

UR Cool

I’m tryna move to Portugal. Is that cool enough for you?

I would move to another planet, but the fare is quite expensive currently ($2-$40 trillion).

It’s Taxing

I’m already cringing at the thought of my taxes next year. Not having to pay; I don’t care about that. Why the dread is that I did hundreds of trades in the past year. I did consulting and contracting, too, that’ll make it all sorts of complicated.

If I thought it’d be any easier I’d use an accountant. But that’s just another time sink. No, I will do it myself, and hate it the whole time.

Pound of Cure

All.

I still have (and would have had then, too) some relatively high-ranking contacts in the US government. For instance, I personally and professionally knew David Petraeus because we served in the 82nd together. I also personally and professionally knew other people that would’ve likely listened to me.

Failing that (if it didn’t work in the first few days), I would’ve found a few of the 9/11 attackers and killed them personally. That would’ve put the kibosh on that.

40 Hour Week

Yes it did.

That’s why when all the centrists/pseudo-liberals tell me what’s “impossible,” I look back at the past and see all the other completely achievable things that were once deemed impossible and conclude they are full of musk ox shit.

Some things might take much time but if it doesn’t violate the laws of physics, honey, it’s ain’t impossible.

Nothing You Know

For instance, about the below, I believe I’ve read every single peer-reviewed paper that exists in the world in English or French about the protective effect of facemasks. After the pandemic began, I also reviewed my epidemiology and virology textbooks that I read in toto about a decade ago.

What have you done? Nothing, of course. Then how are you in any way qualified to claim any fucking thing about if facemasks have any protective effect?

Answer: you are absolutely not. You don’t even know how wrong you are. All ya’ll sound like complete and utter doofuses. If that offends you, the fucks I do not give are boundless and timeless. Get smarter, don’t play stupid games, and I’ll be nicer.
