I spend a lot of time reading children's stories aloud, and I can now do it without any conscious attention, even if the story is new. I can be thinking of something else entirely. This surprises me – I would have thought reading would be a paradigm conscious activity.

I used to read, watch a movie and listen to music at the same time.

I don’t do that anymore, but I still could if I wanted to. “Impossible to multitask” is some shit only scientists doing weird, improper tests believe. In reality, people successfully multitask all the time in all sorts of ways.

It’s only in unfamiliar, extremely-high cognitive load tasks where multitasking is a problem.

This shows just how much of muscle (especially arm musculature) is cosmetic, and how much genetics matter (a lot):

I’m in the “dirty” camp.

The left also want sexual purity, just in a different guise. And I’m not sure the left want racial “purity,” quite, but there is not a good word or phrase for what they do desire there. Maybe “irreducible authenticity?” Best I can manage without deeper thought.

But Aella is on the right track regarding the neuroses of both sides.

Biden had absolutely zero chance of a blowout because he’s about as exciting as a can of warm sardines. That the Dems expected any sort of landslide was hilarious.
