We were told Joe Biden was the ‘safe choice’. Why did he barely scrape through?
As Klein points out, Biden was not the fucking safe choice. He got lucky and won accidentally. If Trump had organized a second stimulus and/or handled the virus semi-competently, it would’ve been Trump in a landslide (electorally) again.
Biden was a risky candidate for the same reasons Hillary Clinton was a risky candidate. He was risky because of his swampy record because he had so little to offer so many people in such deep crisis. It seems he has secured an electoral victory by the skin of his teeth but it was a high risk gamble from the start. And not only is the left not to blame. We are largely responsible for the success that has taken place, not the Lincoln project, which has, as David Sirota said, set fire to $67m in this election by trying to reach suburban Republican voters.
Stacey Abrams did more to secure Biden’s victories than anyone alive. Already the Dems are working to sabotage her, too. The DNC is a corrupt buncha clowns.

I wonder how much of the Covid-19 death rate and even symptomatic/hospitalization rate has to do with previous exposure to similar viruses, obesity prevalence, and some minor genetic differences, too.
Of course if we explored that, we couldn’t spin any sort of morality tale around the virus and lockdowns would be less evidventially supportable, too. Couldn’t have that, could we?

Yeah. Being outdoors won’t protect you there. Much. Like anything, the outdoors in not some sort of magic. If you gather tightly outdoors, and yell and scream, your risk goes way up.
But most people are shockingly terrible at risk assessment, including nearly all liberals who “believe science,” which is why they think we should be locked down infinitely for our own good.
