Two Definitions of Impossible

Agreed, but assuming the US is as organized now as even a middling African nation is a bit of a stretch. We probably are not.

What’s “impossible” here is all too often easily possible in other countries.

Slurp

The Dems are so incompetent and worthless — that’s why it makes me laugh, the idea that they could steal an election.

They couldn’t even steal a fucking Slurpee from 7-11 on free Slurpee day.

Martial

By the way, those people panicking over a Biden mask mandate and a national lockdown: Biden cannot do either of those things without declaring martial law, which has a 0.000000000000001% chance of happening.

Otherwise, those decisions are handled at the state level, which means they will mostly stay the same as they are now under a Biden admin.

So many people like to complain and panic about the system of government without bothering to comprehend in the least how it works. I cannot fucking understand.

Meeting It

What a loser. But he made himself one. All self-created.

I’m 5’8″ and post high schoool, I’ve never had a problem meeting women. That’s because I rule.

Just the Fax

Bowie was right. I was right. Ian Welsh and many, many others were and are wrong about this.

The internet is Gutenbergian in its effects and consequences, and the first truly significant change in human communication in 500 years. No, I don’t think radio and TV were even close, though they certainly are not nothing.

The reason I think the above about radio and TV is the just one website — Facebook — has had more impact on the world in a decade than radio or TV has had in toto since their advent.

Risk World

Exactly this. Driving (or riding in a car) is more dangeous by far than even barely-tested vaccines.

I want to teach a class called “Risk and the Real World” somewhere. No one would let me, even though I’d be really fucking good at it, but 99%+ of people really need this class.

Prop Victim

This is the site I’ve been using to see the full vote tallies and how many votes remain to be counted.

As always, it often takes 2-3 weeks for the full tally. Just usually it does not matter. This time, it did (a little), though 2020 wasn’t nearly as close as it was in 2016. In a few states, the Repubs managed to make it impossible to tally mail-in ballots early to sow confusion and doubt.

This is why Pennsylvania took longer than normal. They did not manage to get this done in Florida.

But, people will believe any old propaganda. I prefer believing the real. It’s sad — really sad — to realize how many people are propaganda victims.

Jaynes Addiction

So much of evolutionary neuroscience is a barely-veiled restatement of Julian Jaynes’ theory of the breakdown of the bicameral mind, recast in more science-y terms to conceal the origin.

I think this is good, because Jaynes was onto something. But no one is allowed to really say that out loud.

Hard To Steal

Assuming the Dems are competent enough to steal an election is fucking hilarious.

They can barely win an election with tons of resources and vast time to prepare. The effort to actually steal one is an order of magnitude harder when you’re not the party in power.

It’s the most moronic conspiracy theory in the world, believing the Dems can have some master plan to alter election results when they can’t even do a single other thing right.

It takes a real dipshit to believe something so obviously impossible. I wouldn’t trust the DNC to sweep my floor; they simply could not steal an election.

Down Up

No more lockdowns. That’s a blunt tool that destroys more than it helps. Close the superspreader locales: gyms, bars/restaurants (indoor dining) and churches, unless they can offer a viable outside option. Allow all takeout, etc.

No one remembers “flatten the curve.” Now we are only hurting ourself with persistent lockdowns. Stupid, stupid.

Scars

A lot of liberals are going to emerge from this pandemic extremely psychologically scarred. I see all the people who have only left their homes like three times since March and are terrified of even going outdoors.

I don’t know what went wrong with them, but it’s only going to get worse as the pandemic intensifies during the winter months.

This is going to have a noticeable and long-term effect on culture — probably a quite bad one.

Color Too Full

This atrocious mess was designed by “experts.”

Although it very likely might’ve been forced on them by MBAs.
