My friends’ restaurant, like many, is barely enduring. The government must do more.

But this is now the point — destroying small and medium businesses. Lockdowns otherwise now have no purpose at all in the US.

People who refuse to wear masks & go to superspreader events should be among the first to get vaccinated (after 65+ ofc).
The vaccine isn't an opportunity to exact justice, it's a chance to go back to normal.
Some prefer more total people die than see their Outgroup not die.

Agreed. But the problem is those are the same mooks who would refuse to be vaccinated. But we have tons of tasers and other means of subduing and restraining people. Time to use all that stuff for a good cause for once.

They’ll get over it. And then we can go back to eating at restaurants and having concerts again.

I mostly agree. There is going to be a contingent of hikikimori-type “stay inside forever” people, but other than that this psychological damage and trauma will have a bounceback and things are likely to be fairly freewheeling in the mid-2020s.

It alas probably won’t do much to reverse the pervasive prudery as it’s just too well-supported by libs, but one can hope.

I don’t agree with most of what this guy writes, or even a lot of the rest of the thread, but this is absolutely accurate:

I think that 99%+ of women don’t realize that this world truly does not give a single fuck about the average man. Since women are treated very differently, especially when young, and they themselves generally only care about non-average men (the top 10% or so of men) they don’t see this at all.

It takes being in the bottom 10% — maybe even bottom 1% — of attractiveness for a woman to be treated like the average man is.

That’s why I always give hearty, condescending laugh when women say, “Oh, treat us just like another man!” Oh, trust me, you really really don’t want that. And you can argue that it shouldn’t be this way, blah blah blah, but I am just recounting how the world actually is.
