The Arecibo Telescope in Puerto Rico Collapses.
A great metaphor for the failure of our country. What should never be allowed to happen happens; the easy is “impossible”; failure is the expectation and in that we are not disappointed.

If you accept no risk, then you’ve just taken a huge risk.
Why can not more people see this?

People die of ideologies all the time. Just wait till climate change really hits. Many, many people will die of its effects while believing it’s a hoax. Reality ain’t care what you think is a hoax; reality will fuck you up regardless.
My critique of capitalism is that I am not currently on a starship journey to another planet.
Really, that was all Marx had to write. He wasted a lot of time with all that “Das-ing” and “Kapital-ing” and such.
The Gobbler has appointed Honey Boo Boo ambassador to Space.
A coronavirus cat-astrophe: Orange County’s first cat cafe forced to close amid pandemic.
Now this pandemic has gone too far. This really bums meowt.
I’m not certain about this, but I wonder if liberals would be less uptight about words if they held more actual power? I think so, but maybe they’d just get worse.
Let’s not find out.
There is no one idea that caused Mozilla and Firefox to fail. In some ways, it’s not even their fault; they followed the only ethos that was available to them just as most people and organizations do. Right now that is one of authoritarianism and removing control from the user and making all into a worthless consumption device.
They are still worthy of blame, though, because there were tons of people (like me) telling them they were going to fail, and why. In fact, I got banned for Reddit for this after the Mozilla devs whined so much about me doing exactly this. (Note that I did not violate any Reddit rules — they just did not like having a competent, articulate, and correct opponent.)
It’s still sad being able to predict something so, well, predictable and then watch it play out just as you knew it would. It’s like when you know you’re going to fall and can’t do anything about it.
Of course, removing all useful extensions was the final nail in the coffin and one of the single most business-destroying moves I’ve ever seen any company make, but even that was just one of many colossally poor decisions in a long list of them.
The Gobbler has mandated that all children shall be issued jet packs at the age of five.
Those who survive are destined to conquer the universe.
Men's midlife crises are intensely boring they just get an expensive bike and marry a 30 year old version of the same wife whereas women do fucken cool stuff like open owl cafes, retrain as beekeepers and get phds in necromancy.

I’m tryna move to Portugal. Is that cool enough for you?
I would move to another planet, but the fare is quite expensive currently ($2-$40 trillion).
I’m already cringing at the thought of my taxes next year. Not having to pay; I don’t care about that. Why the dread is that I did hundreds of trades in the past year. I did consulting and contracting, too, that’ll make it all sorts of complicated.
If I thought it’d be any easier I’d use an accountant. But that’s just another time sink. No, I will do it myself, and hate it the whole time.
your current self is zapped back to September 2, 2001. how much of 9/11 do you think you could prevent. if youโd like, please reply with your reasoning and methodology

All.
I still have (and would have had then, too) some relatively high-ranking contacts in the US government. For instance, I personally and professionally knew David Petraeus because we served in the 82nd together. I also personally and professionally knew other people that would’ve likely listened to me.
Failing that (if it didn’t work in the first few days), I would’ve found a few of the 9/11 attackers and killed them personally. That would’ve put the kibosh on that.
The 40-hour work week used to be radical and unrealistic.

Yes it did.
That’s why when all the centrists/pseudo-liberals tell me what’s “impossible,” I look back at the past and see all the other completely achievable things that were once deemed impossible and conclude they are full of musk ox shit.
Some things might take much time but if it doesn’t violate the laws of physics, honey, it’s ain’t impossible.
Most of England banned from mixing indoors โuntil Easter.โ
Yeah, this now has nothing at all to do with the pandemic and is all about destroying small businesses and exerting control. It’s the greatest social experiment of the modern era and we are the lab rats.
