Teaching STEM doesn’t teach people to think, just do equations and be “productive.” Teaching history in a critical and intensive way would lead people to thought, and for capitalism that would be a very bad thing indeed.
I am just stunned there are some saying we need to just move on from Wednesday's events when all the documented evidence shows there were determined people—some of them carrying nooses—potentially minutes away from carrying out public executions of our elected representatives.

Most of those insurrectionists were opportunistic and comical doofuses, but there were some serious people there who intended to commit grievous offenses. They just didn’t get in fast enough.
Next time — and there will be a next time — they will be more organized.
Covid-19 was always going to resurge in winter. With people cooped up indoors, low temperature and humidity, crappy ventilation — that was just what was going to happen.

One time years ago a girlfiend and I ate some very spicy food at a Mexican restaurant and then returned to our hotel.
