Untouchable Like Eliot Ness
People are surprised when I can recognize an accent or a language in a word or two.
But here’s the thing: I am really fucking good.
Scouse
I didn’t realize Jodie Comer is a scouser! How did I not know this? One of my very favorite accents.
Not as strong as this woman’s, though:
What a personality.
Min Max
America is probably one of the worst places for it, but if people were as interested in helping lift each other up as they are holding other people down, the world would be a vastly better place.
This applies in every area, not just the minimum wage — which should be probably around $22 per hour if it had tracked productivity increases.
Bad Idea After Bad Idea
We should be doing a massive lockdown right now, and it’s sort of bizarre how that policy option has fallen off the radar. Hundreds of thousands of lives could be saved! https://t.co/GSbDgCxGdm

It’s fallen off the radar because it’s a terrible idea.
No Not Gram
a world in which other peopleโs breath isnโt venom was such a damned luxury.

Steve, now you wanna kill gramma. What’s up with all you gramma-killers?
Real Lock
Whilst 2020 brought misery and dislocation for tens of millions of Americans, thank to boom in asset prices those with stake in stock market and real estate saw a $12.5trn increase in net worth = largest ever recorded. Totally unlike 2008. @Gavekal pic.twitter.com/SXap6fxIGq

The real reason lockdowns are ongoing and not going to stop anytime soon.
Deplete
How and why did we ever believe in willpower depletion? It sounds absurd now. I can’t believe I ever bought that bullshit.
It’s obviously bogus. I wonder how many other things I believe that are like that?
Shoot Em Up
This is…a lot of murder.
Shit.https://t.co/zdC0wTkHY0 pic.twitter.com/E0CeywZs9X

Lock people at home all the time, I’d expect murders and suicides to increase.
And they have.
Emergence
Yes, this is accurate. Or when I get angry.
Reachability
it was perfectly ordinary to be unreachable. https://t.co/4a2v581OxE

I mostly miss that aspect of those pre-smartphone days, though I could no longer get by without Google Maps. I am terrible at directions.
More Flavorful
Here’s the thing that always surprises people about me, I suppose because I am mild-mannered: I do what I want and I will do what I want no matter what you think or how you attempt to stop me.
Equating being mild-mannered with weakness is a common mistake. Many have made it.
I have defeated every single one of them.
Don’t Talk To Me
This Eurasia Group guy on Bloomberg right now is saying so many words and yet nothing at all. The vaccines do not need new approval if they have to be adjusted for a different strain, just as the flu vaccine is reformulated every year and doesnโt require new regulatory approval.
— Milena Rodban (@MilenaRodban) January 6, 2021
I kinda knew it already, but this year has been revelatory in uncovering that most people know almost nothing about anything, aren’t very curious, and yet have lots of opinions about these topics they know less than nothing about.
Clown world.
Yellow
Great cover.
The Present Dilemma
“You can’t work for a better world unless you know what a good life is.”
–Natalie Merchant
