This Snob

Agreed. I see why it appeals to people, but it’s not for me. It reminds me too much of Maya Angelou’s poetry, which I also do not care for. It hits the same notes, is intended to do the same thing.

I am a poetry snob, though, so it only makes sense that I would not like it.

Aster Risk

Indeed. We might not tell the Chinese, even if we were competent enough to detect it in time at all (doubtful).

And no, we don’t yet have the tech to deflect any asteroids. But we could move people out of the impact zone before it arrived unless it were a planet-killer, in which case it would not matter.

Least Soc

I am glad that now when people say things like the above, there are very few clowns coming out of the woodwork shrieking about how the person who misses social contact wants to kill gramma.

Even those doofuses have been humbled by reality, I think. Hell, I am the least social fucker around and even I miss that light socializing a bit. Back in July or August, there would’ve been a scrum of scrooges in her replies screeching about gramma-killing, but they seem to have scrammed now.

Good fucking riddance.

Bargain

It would cost around $40 billion to vaccinate the entire world.

Huge, huge fucking bargain. So of course we’ll never do it.

No Oxy

Not trying to be tough, but I never felt any pain at all. I threw the pain meds in the garbage after the first day, having taken none of them. I don’t know why; maybe just a good dentist.

Tap In

She really does sound like Eddie. As close as anyone I’ve heard anyway. That finger-tapping is really hard.

The main difference is that it always seemed Eddie was about to break into a classical piece and no one else I’ve seen really can make the guitar sound like that. That’s why he was Eddie Van Halen and everyone else…is not.
