Now you have people (most libs) worshipping lockdowns, and treating them like some divine solution to all ills, so they’ll probably never go away.
Month: February 2021
Breakout
People sitting in a line all along the beach – apparently this is against the lockdown rules. Was obvious that many people were in groups of more than 2 households. As the weather gets better people will ignore rules. pic.twitter.com/4j5yZ3bBz8

Breaking moronic and harmful rules is a civic duty.
Vax Facts
Why so much skepticism? Think about all of the negative things youโve heard about the vaccines:
– They arenโt 100% effective.
– Vaccinated people may be contagious.
– The virus variants may make everything worse.
– Donโt change your behavior even if you get a shot.(4/x)

The messaging by our terrible, compromised media has been appallingly bad, and the anti-vax nutters have not helped either. The reality is that all the vaccines available in the US are remarkably effective and safe. Everyone should get one as soon as possible. If not, there should be no public life for you.
Cut Fect
Pfizer vaccine estimated 89.5% effective at preventing coronavirus INFECTIONS, whether symptomatic or not, according to new pre-print study conducted by Pfizer and Israel's Health Ministry. This would point to a huge cut in transmission. pic.twitter.com/o2yMJjccDE

Remember that “expert” a few months ago who said this was impossible, that no vaccine did this? Ha.
There will be no spring/summer Covid resurgence, variants or not.
No Wave
Vaccines are working!! Look at this amazing graph. Just freaking awesome. I am so excited to get vaccinated when it's my turn! AND HUG PEOPLE! pic.twitter.com/tHVZzn3Psq

Yeah, all these doom-saying predictions about the variants are going to prove to be wrong for this (and other) reasons. There won’t be another enormous Covid wave.
Never Not
Remember that when the lockdown lifers are advocating for eternal lockdown that there will always be some new variant, or some new pandemic even, just around the corner. This will never not be the case. In their way of viewing the world, it is filled with constant peril and getting worse, so we must be ever-fearful and hide inside just in case.
I am worried that they’ll win and we’ll treat completely from the social. They certainly seem strong now, and from them we might get a Surrogates world. Resist this now or it’ll be too late.
As You Will
“In education, where our rivals from their very cradles by a painful discipline seek after manliness, in Athens we live exactly as we please, and yet are just as ready to encounter every legitimate danger.”

Old enough to remember when only the most beyond-the-pale heterodox people — me, for example, — said things like this. pic.twitter.com/fQ3XFnIhyD

Same. I remember being called a “commie” and other choice epithets for writing things like that in the early 2000s.
Fizz
COVID-19 is on the run โ expect the pandemic to be under control by Memorial Day.
I agree. Though I don’t have a good firmly-grounded empirical reason for thinking this, I believe the variants will mostly fizzle out in the Western hemisphere due to seasonality, vaccination, and other unknown factors.
Mostly, I believe they will amount to about nothing — and I am no optimist, as I am sure most of you know already.
Enemies Spur Action
Anyone who believes we should huddle on this planet, hoping all goes well, never learning or exploring anything beyond our tiny sphere, is my sworn enemy. I don’t care if they are “left” or “right” or in the middle. No different than the lockdown lifers and the lockdown looters, they are my foe and I want nothing to do with them if possible, and if I am forced to deal with them, I wish to defeat and humiliate them.
To Boldly Go
You may be asking "Why send robots to Mars when there are so many problems here on Earth we could be spending our money on?"
So a short thread on that.
— Gwen C. Katz (@gwenckatz) February 18, 2021
Great thread. Dipshits who ask that question understand nothing about anything and are terrible humans almost always.
Cry Gravy
For the past several days I have felt like I needed to cry but have been incapable of doing so, and it is really, really annoying
— bletchley punk (@alicegoldfuss) February 19, 2021
Cry? I think I’ve heard of that. How does one “cry,” exactly?
I never feel more like a robot than when people talk about crying. I just don’t have that module and I suspect I never did, beyond an infant’s instinct. I don’t think it has anything to do with my acculturation as masculine, either.
Get Jabbed
What questions? There are no questions here. If you choose not to get vaccinated, fuck you. You don’t get to play anymore. Should be mandatory house arrest until you get jabbed. This is the same as the anti-maskers should’ve been treated too, by the way.
Texas, Next Us
Millions of Texans struggle for drinking water following deadly winter storm.
F-f-f-failed state. Coming next to a location near you! If you are in the US, anyway.
This is what the future here looks like. Get used to it.
Big Bills

A Secret Service agent handed me a big stack of money in Egypt for some photos I’d taken of him and his team shooting guns in the desert.
