Some of the best meals I have ever had were in China, at a cheap dumpling shop in Chengdu. They cost me about $2 each — enough food for a wildebeest. I think about those dumplings quite often.
Yes, it is the end of French intellectual life. And it’s fucking terrible. The last country that I know of with a bit of independent thought and that had not been completely captured by wokesterism and meaningless identity sloganeering has now fallen.
Intellectual inquiry is being destroyed everywhere, all for the blandest and most useless lowbrow pseudo-cerebral movement that is not even remotely self-coherent and doesn’t actually help the groups it purports to raise up, but instead individuates us all into ethnic groups of one lone person. It’s a Hobbesian war of all against all, in the name of equality.
Even if you learn the secrets of the universe, you will never learn why those secrets, and not others, and why they are secret in the first place. Infinitely exhaustive mysteries neverending. The mystery is the structure.
