Oh no! She was such a cool woman and an amazing driver.
Gun Comp
I wonder if one of the reasons guns became the go-to badass weapon in the minds of insecure American (mostly) men is that you can be obese and out of shape and still fire a gun? Guns as a sort of Fat Acceptance weapon for inadequate men.
Being a real badass would involve practicing an actual martial art, or archery, or even learning how to build something. Guns are easy; even a 400 pound complete uncoordinated moron can fire a Glock. (Usually not well, but the thing will go “bang bang” for anyone.) I bet that’s a huge part of their appeal — they allow the mediocre to have some cachet of their power.
Reminds me, as soon as I am vaccinated, I am going to try my hand at archery. Should be fun if nothing else.

My only question is, where does he store his anti-grav generator?

Still better than a lot of CGI.
No Pan
I’m so tired of articles like, “Electric cars won’t solve climate change” or “Wind power won’t solve climate change,” etc.
YA FUCKIN’ THINK?
None of those things alone will solve climate change. There is no magic bullet, no singular miracle cure, for climate change or its ills. It will take concerted effort across all sectors of industry and society to deal with such a global-scale problem. Of course we should concentrate on both the easiest and most high-impacts areas and efforts, but even with that it’ll take hundreds or thousands of tweaks and alterations to all parts of how we do things.
Why the press insists on writing articles about how one thing or some other thing will not solve climate change, I haven’t a clue. But it’s a complete waste of space and of brain cycles.
Be Very
Covid-19 hospitalizations in the US were down 9% over the past week, the 61st consecutive day of week-over-week declines. Down 73% from their peak on Jan 6. 🙏 pic.twitter.com/4K7ryXTaOt

That just means we are even closer to the super-surge of DOOOOOOM! See, decreasing numbers indicate that the virus is hiding in a back alley behind a Denny’s, injecting steroids, so it can come back all pumped up and ready to jump out of the bushes and start a new terror barrage. Be afraid, be very afraid!

People in general despise things that are true but are unflattering (and that require work), especially if the food corps have spent billions and billions on propaganda making you hate yourself, too.
I really struggle to understand why people think we should just…be ok with everyone being the size of a walrus? How that help anything? Does it make the world better? Anyone’s lives better? Pointing out that obesity is highly correlated (and almost certainly responsible) for being much more likely to experience negative outcomes of Covid and every other ailment isn’t shaming anyone or stating anything that is untrue.
Why must we lie about reality to avoid hurting others, when that reality has a direct effect on our own as well? We should handle obesity as the eating disorder it is, and work on treating it both at a systemic (ultra-processed foods, food corp propaganda) and at a personal level.
Fuck the Fat Acceptance movement. They’ve done so much to harm the world, all funded by General Mills and Nestlรฉ et al. And people are just ok with that.
