Remember that when experts tell you something, it’s often crap like this:
Month: April 2021
Pass It To Me
US split on vaccine passports as country aims for return to normalcy.
Give me my vaccine passport, please.

Working on that. Completely done with the libs who believe post-vaccination we still must hide under five mattresses and ten layers of masks, waiting for the end times, panic-stricken at the idea that someone, somewhere, might not have a mask on.
Ain’t no way to live, and I won’t.

I appreciate that it's safe for vaccinated people to be outdoors in public without masks, but I really don't think it's considerate of people who can't get vaccinated to make them play the "is this person vaccinated or is this person an anti-masker" game to go out of their homes.

Here’s the thing: it’s safe for unvaccinated people to be outdoors without masks too.
What’s this fucking weird-ass liberal obession with wearing masks outside? I just do not get it.

Deficient
There's never going to be a meaningful amount of space colonization and the human race is going to die out right here at home. I mean, how long are we supposed to put up with this charade?
— Osita Nwanevu (@OsitaNwanevu) April 25, 2021
The future is very long, unknown and unknowable. Nothing about space colonization violates any laws of physics so it is a possible outcome and given long enough time and the survival of the human race (in some form), even a probable one.
This is an example of the ignorance of extrapolation from the now. Never works, and in the end you almost always look stupid.
Created Limitations
This is an incredible article.
From April 2020: "… predicts we wonโt see a vaccine approved until at least 2021 or 2022, and even then, 'this is very optimistic and of relatively low probability.'" https://t.co/GpwIIo7rkM
— Lauren Gilbert (@notanastronomer) April 26, 2021
There was a range of “expert” opinion then.
A great many, though not quite a majority, believed there would never be a vaccine created as “there had never been a successful coronavirus vaccine.” Not realizing or thinking about of course that no one had really given it a serious try before as there was no money in it.
Beyond that, there were many who said a vaccine might be possible in 4-5 years. And some said that a vaccine might be available in late 2021 or 2022. Shows how unknown the shape of the future is, and that previous constraints (as with Medicare for All being “impossible”) are completely artificial.
We create our our own limitations, which then have multitudes of “experts” claiming it really couldn’t be any other way.

Reason a billion why I cannot tolerate large cities.
Zilla Nilla
Glad someone else has recognized the tricks Mozilla likes to pull with Firefox:
This is largely what doomed them, along with the obvious lie that all configurability and customizability must be removed for the sake of security. Anyone who works in IT knows that’s utter hogwash and those things have little to nothing to do with one another.
Firefox 3 was the best version and I miss a usable browser a great deal. Probably never see anything that generally capable again.
No North
Yale study shows class bias in hiring based on few seconds of speech.
There’s a reason I lost my North Florida accent.
One Side Did
Modern libs: Believe science! (Unless science says that the pandemic will ever end, or that I shouldn’t hide inside forever, or unless it no longer gives me an excuse to exhort and admonish others to do the same.)
I would give the same treatment to conservatives, but just fuck them and their anti-mask anti-vax BS.
Obesogenic
You are naturally lean – your modern environment is naturally fat.
— GuruAnaerobic (@GuruAnaerobic) April 27, 2021
This is a much healthier way of looking at the obesity problem and the world than the Fat Acceptance movement’s take on things. Anyway, as I’ve pointed out a million times, the FA movement is only possible in a corporate propaganda-rich environment. Without that sustaining it, it’d already be dead.
Out Of
I’m beyond tired of people saying or implying things like, “If you aren’t on my team, then you’re on the other team.”
I’m not playing a game, and I’m definitely not on your team, their team, any fucking team. Fuck teams, fuck you, and I’m not competing in your little toy world where any of that shit makes any difference.
Get out of my face, hedge-born canker-blossoms.
Mmmmm. Bison
Never cede the moral high ground to these zealots. Monocrop agriculture does far more damage to ecosystems than raising cattle. Indeed, in many cases the presence of hoofed ruminantsโwhich once walked the land in great numbersโcontributes to a healthy ecological balance. https://t.co/ynC5umlTIE
— Michael Hartl (@mhartl) April 27, 2021
Exactly. Hell, half the fucking US is better-suited to grazing ruminants than mono-cropping. Sure, beef/bison would be a bit more expensive that way, but also vastly more humane.
