This thread is all true, but it’s not the whole story. US liberals are deeply, deeply terrified of sex and are almost all horrible prudes. This has just as much to do with the war on sex workers and what’s driving it as right-wingers attempting to impose their idea of morality on the rest of us.

When I post anything about sex on my blog, my readership drops for weeks after. It’s one of the reasons I do it, to prune those people! And it’s most pronounced among US visitors by far.

Outside of a few LGBTQ-adjacent areas, most US liberals have sexual attitudes that would’ve been considered hyper-conservative in 1984.

Think there’s about a 70% chance the US is a right-wing authoritarian dictatorship within the next decade.

I can believe this. I follow this, mostly, and I look significantly younger than I did three years ago — and I already looked younger than my actual age. I’d say working out + more protein reduced my apparent age by about 4-6 years and probably had the same effect at a cellular level.

Covid vaccination should be absolutely mandatory.

The main reason is that it’s somewhat likely (around 10% I’d say) that a variant does emerge that exhibits significant vaccine escape and is both more transmissible and a lot more deadly. Even though 10% chance is not that high, the devastation this would cause is enough to significantly insure against this possibility.

Say there is a variant that emerges that is 50% more deadly. I estimate this would lead to another $15 trillion knocked off world GDP over five years and 20 million excess deaths.

This is why vaccination should be 100% mandatory with huge fines or jail time if you are not jabbed, unless you cannot be for very-strictly-controlled medical reasons.
