No Prudery

I don’t understand what people get out of prudery. What’s the payoff? It seems all downside to me.

Luckily, most of my friends are not prudes. A close friend of mine, we were asking each other “Would you…” questions as friends do. And she asked me, “Would you go to a nude beach?” And I said, “Of course I would” because, well, that’s self-evident.

So I asked her the same question and she said, “When you taking me?” Heh.

The key: she’s not an American and has no buy-in nor reason to partake of the liberal American prude-fest that is occurring now, for reasons ever-unfathomable to me.

Spiraling

I’d say it’s more likely around 10%, but the Covid-insane are very loud and extremely obnoxious, so their numbers seem greater. It could certainly be up to 20%, though. There are a lot of very, very damaged people who leapt right off the deep end because of Covid.

I know one personally and watching her spiral down was indeed a very grim thing to witness. She lost her job, her mind, and much else besides.

Paint the Town Unread

More of what I’ve observed online after the onslaught of Covid has convinced me that many people simply cannot read. They can obviously get something out of text, but whatever it is it’s not true literacy. It’s more like disconnected and fleeting imagery from a dream to most, I think.

This is true of most academics as well, by the way, so don’t think I’m merely besmirching the less-educated.

Wagging

A lot of liberals whose lives now revolve around scolding, castigating and admonishing others are going to be really sad when Covid is gone.

Ya’ll really need some kind of religion.

Dev Flops

Indeed it is much harder now. Getting a development environment set up takes days, often even if you know what you are doing. If you don’t, well, forget it.

Back in the old days, you booted up the compy, just started programming. It really was that easy. No one can plausibly argue to me that what we have now is an improvement.
