Enjoying

It’s A Post-Covid Miracle Summer. Enjoy It.

Right on. It’s great to see some pushback in mainstream outlets against the “hide inside forever” double-maskin’ lockdown lifer losers.

Suddenly, everything feels like a blessing. Hugging casual acquaintances, grocery shopping without fear and planning a trip all feel so decadent that I often wonder if Iโ€™m worthy of any of it. Forget water into wine; in less than a year, scientists developed a lifesaving medical marvel that sent death rates plummeting. Weโ€™re living through a modern miracle.

Oh, I’m worthy. I’m so worthy. And I am making the best of it while strongly resisting the lockdown lifers who wish to shove us all back indoors. Fuck them. Get your life going. It’s the only one you’ll have. Make the best of it.

Allow me to quote my own bad self from November 20, 2020:

A lot of liberals are going to emerge from this pandemic extremely psychologically scarred. I see all the people who have only left their homes like three times since March and are terrified of even going outdoors.

I donโ€™t know what went wrong with them, but itโ€™s only going to get worse as the pandemic intensifies during the winter months.

This is going to have a noticeable and long-term effect on culture โ€” probably a quite bad one.

Who put that crystal ball in my brain? Thank you for that. Now if it could just see some damn lottery numbers.
