Myo Bio

I don’t know why because I haven’t done anything unusual or started shooting up ‘roids or anything like that, but in the last few months my muscles have gotten quite a lot larger and more defined after a good bit of not many noticeable changes.

Have just been doing my normal workout routines that I’ve basically been doing for years now. Maybe it’s a little more protein in my diet or something. Whatever the cause, I’ll take it.

Turn

Made the mistake of using the new Firefox on a work computer. The UI/UX people who designed that must’ve had an IQ of “turnip.”

It’s just abominable. There aren’t even words for it. They don’t even really want users anymore, do they? They’ve just given the fuck up.

More Free

Me too! It’s a great one. And I like how it’s an implicit pushback and refutation of the “hide inside forever” ethos that has been developing lately. I don’t think that’s accidental. There’s a reason all the scenes are outdoors! And no masks, bright colors, people seeming happy to be alive.

That Hammond organ really makes the song, too. Love that he included that in there. More of this, less lockdown lifer pishposh.

Antisenescence

Yeah, bullshit. I don’t alas expect it to happen before I kick the bucket, but I suspect aging is easier to halt and reverse than other common depredations and diseases. I don’t have a firm reason to think this, so take with a grain of salt.

That we do not yet know how to do it means nothing. All the things we know how to do now we once had no idea how to achieve. This is not proof of anything. If we survive climate change, I’d expect aging to be eliminated and also be capable of being turned back in the next 200 years.

Hate Ourselves

It makes me angry that there is no longer a single fucking OS or browser that is not a total piece of user-hostile data-thievin’ crap. And with shitty developers and MBAs gaslighting you about “security” the whole time to make you believe it has to be this way.

We must hate ourselves to allow this.

Enjoying

It’s A Post-Covid Miracle Summer. Enjoy It.

Right on. It’s great to see some pushback in mainstream outlets against the “hide inside forever” double-maskin’ lockdown lifer losers.

Suddenly, everything feels like a blessing. Hugging casual acquaintances, grocery shopping without fear and planning a trip all feel so decadent that I often wonder if Iโ€™m worthy of any of it. Forget water into wine; in less than a year, scientists developed a lifesaving medical marvel that sent death rates plummeting. Weโ€™re living through a modern miracle.

Oh, I’m worthy. I’m so worthy. And I am making the best of it while strongly resisting the lockdown lifers who wish to shove us all back indoors. Fuck them. Get your life going. It’s the only one you’ll have. Make the best of it.

Orbuculum

Allow me to quote my own bad self from November 20, 2020:

A lot of liberals are going to emerge from this pandemic extremely psychologically scarred. I see all the people who have only left their homes like three times since March and are terrified of even going outdoors.

I donโ€™t know what went wrong with them, but itโ€™s only going to get worse as the pandemic intensifies during the winter months.

This is going to have a noticeable and long-term effect on culture โ€” probably a quite bad one.

Who put that crystal ball in my brain? Thank you for that. Now if it could just see some damn lottery numbers.
