50 Shades

I wonder if the pandemic lockdown lifers are the closeted BDSM types finally letting a version of their freak flag fly in public? You know, those who would like to be tied up in one place and voluntarily abused?

Right now, during the pandemic is their first real chance to to inflict that on the rest of us. OK, I am kind of joking. Mostly. It wouldn’t be people in the actual BDSM community. Most of them are all about consent. It’d be people who would never let themselves do such “bad” things as actual BDSM, though they feel the draw, but have to get there another way — and that way is inflicting their control fantasies on the rest of us.

That has to be the explanation for at least some of the “blue state scoldy people,” to steal Angie Schmitt’s great phrase.

I Never Knew

Where’s the end, though, Charlie? Covid isn’t going away. Still going to want people to socially distance and be in lockdown in two years? Ten years? Twenty? In this way of thinking it will be eternal, and I do believe it’s what these people want. There has to be a halt somewhere to the distancing and lockdown mania, though. It was supposed to be with vaccines. What happened to all you vaccine triumphalists (and I am one too) now that we have very effective vaccines?

We should certainly let the people hide inside crying who want to do that, sure. Not the rest of us, though. We should not have to do that for those who just want to harm everyone else. Let them harm each other and leave us the fuck alone.

Pass the Vax

England is trying to rewrite the pandemic playbook, opening up its society amid skyrocketing cases in the hope its world-class vaccine rollout will prevent more mass deaths.

The hope? Anti-vax propaganda. The vaccines absolutely will prevent mass deaths.

This is absolutely what they should be doing, no matter what the plutes want or what would make them richer. Time to quit ruining people’s lives when we have better alternatives.

Goaldammit

Very good and reasonable goals. My bench press is right at that, and I can do more than 10 pull-ups. Not sure what my bodyfat percentage is, but definitely below 15%. Don’t have any grandkids and never will, though.

The goals above above do not guarantee good health, but it sure puts you on the path that is more likely to lead that way and stay there. I know, I can hear the Fat Acceptance howlers screeching that “Being fit doesn’t mean you’re healthy! Wahhhh!” But that’s how I’m betting and how anyone who is not a total asscclown would wager too.
