Fun Police

Love the fire Angie has been bringing lately about the liberal lockdown lifers:

Their behavior is so strange to me. I know that their desire for asceticism and their lack of a place to direct their religious feeling has become wrapped up in Covid fears, and that’s a lot of the explanation. But it’s just so damn odd that they get so angry about people having fun. We’ve created the worst kind of prudes lately, the ones that we all used to make fun of mercilessly in the 1990s.

Scolders Gonna Scold

I’m glad they held the Olympics and Lollaplaooza. Lolla was requiring proof of vaccination. What is the problem? What is there to be infuriated about?

These lockdown lifers just make no sense at all. They actually do love lockdown and scolding people. It’s become a lifestyle, and a sick one at that.

Gen Z Are โ€œPuriteens,โ€ But Not For The Reasons You Think.

Yeah, it is mostly for the reasons I think. For years I was told this shift to prudishness wasn’t happening, but of course it was; I was right.

This article, though, is mostly bogus, other than about the fact that the phenomenon is real. People always find “reasons” to be boring prudes, to revel in their loserdom, but that doesn’t make them the actual reasons — they are more excuses, or post hoc rationalizations.

I believe the cause is more just a rebellion against what came before. That’s most of it, and what’s left is that with everyone now so fat and unhealthy, there is just less attraction between people. It’s easier being prudish when everyone looks like a dumpster.
