Pac Lin

Hot For Pac-Man: Oui Magazine 1982.

This is one of my favorite things I’ve read lately. It also shows why archiving is important, even of “smut” and other seemingly irrelevant items, because culture is culture and the present is not a good judge of what will be, uh, revealing in the future.

Also, I am 95% sure my dad had that issue of Oui magazine, though I wouldn’t have seen it in 1982. It was probably more around 1986 when my parents got divorced and no one cared where anything was anymore. I remember the woman on the front holding the the flower, though I didn’t really care about Pac-Man as a game at all then or now.

Interestingly, they spell Annabella Lwin’s (of Bow Wow Wow) name wrong on the cover. If that’s an interview with her, I’d like to read it, but could not find a copy of it online. Even if it’s just photos of her, I’d like to see them for that real 1980s feel.

But I could buy that copy of Oui here if I really wanted to.
