Mozy on Down

The whole point of Firefox was that it was customizable. Now it’s not.

Why, then, would anyone use it? By the way, FF just continues to exist so Google can claim it does not have a browser monopoly. That’s all that’s left for it.

Not More Than

Every single veteran knows that Afghanistan was a mistake and that there was no way we could transform a society like that (or any society, really).

After 9/11, I considered signing back up to the military. Glad I didn’t make that mistake, deploying to endless, pointless wars.

Milac

People in academia do not realize it, but academia and the military have so very much in common.

Fantasy Literature

AstraZeneca lead scientist says Delta makes mass testing pointless in UK.

Finally, some (mostly) sanity here. Let the Zero Covid fantasy go because that’s all it ever was.

โ€œWe need to move away from reporting infections to actually reporting the number of people who are ill. Otherwise we are going to be frightening ourselves with very high numbers that donโ€™t translate into disease burden.โ€

SARS-Cov-2 is already de facto endemic, no matter what the nearly-useless technical definition of “endemic” is. It’s time to live with reality rather than fantasy.

Travelater

Looks like Covid is going to be the excuse to make it much, much harder for regular non-wealthy people to travel internationally in perpetuity, all fully backed by the deluded and delusional “completely safe” lib contingent.

So it’ll be extremely easy for the very rich to go where they want, but nearly impossible for anyone else. Be a nice lead-in to ecofascism.

Unitary

That is the whole problem with Celsius exactly. The discrete units are too large. It’s an inhuman system (and was explcititly designed to be so). For the same reason as Janie, I prefer grams as well because the units are more appropriate.

Yes, you can say 27.5 Celsius or whatever but then you go from unit problems to sounding-like-a-robot problems.

Fahrenheit is a more human-friendly scale. Only goofuses and dipshits would argue against this.

Acc

I don’t really care much what Jodie Comer says (though she seems like a cool person), but I sure like listening to her accent. Glad the libs haven’t taken away liking different accents from us (yet).
