Democrats drop paid family and medical leave from safety net bill.
Ahahaha! Now that’s a good example of wallowing in your loserdom.
Unfortunately, it also harms millions of people.

Regardless of how you interpret the many mysteries of โMulholland Drive,' one thing is certain: Naomi Watts is incredible. @JE_TRUSSELL explores her role and performance in David Lynchโs cryptic classic in this edition of #TheGreatPerformances: https://t.co/yzj0MEEeFV pic.twitter.com/9LKe4UfPy6

In that film, yes she is. Easily in the top five best cinema performances of all time. Goddamn she is so great in that film.
It’s totally senseless how when a show like Maid is created, liberals start screeching about “poverty porn” and “poverty tourism,” but those same dipshits carp and complain about how no shows about working class people get made.
I don’t give a fuck if every single person on the goddamn show is a trillionaire as long as it rings true and has something interesting to say. The whole asinine lib idea that actors should only be able to play someone exactly like them is some of the most laughably ludicrous malarkey I’ve ever heard.
Identity inanity doing what it’s supposed to: keeping anyone from taking any action to harm the status quo.
WTF HAHAHAHA HOW IS THIS SHIPPABLE? WHAT IS THIS?! pic.twitter.com/epse3Cv3xF

I wouldn’t use a laptop with a fucking notch unless someone paid me a couple of hundred an hour to do so. And even then, maybe not….
How did anyone think this was a good idea?
it is insane to me that Americans know that people in many other civilized countries take *entire months off of their jobs with pay* and still don’t rise up in vicious revolt https://t.co/uKrc0ZwvGp

Yeah, that’s always been mystifying to me too. For a while I worked for a German company and thus many of my colleagues were based in Germany. It was common for them to say things like, “Well, I’ll be gone for all of August so that will be done when I come back in September.”
Much of the world has it so much better than the US. But, as with medical care, according to people who’ve never even traveled outside the country, anything better is 100% impossible.
I always see mooks writing articles that are like, “You can’t get all muscular and cut without a personal trainer and two personal chefs, you’re not a celebrity, don’t even try!” Then, I think about my quite shitty genetics, and look at my body which is in fact pretty muscular and cut. So then I look around for my personal trainer and my two chefs, and I find them not.
Then I realize this is another example of allowing people to wallow in their loserdom — both enabling it and writing what will get clicks and make money. Because of course if you go Full Metal Jacket on them and call your readers disgusting maggots who should show some damn initiative and not be professional couch pilots, you probably won’t have very many readers for long.
I have no financial incentive to coddle people so this weaselly low-expectations show of deference has no influence on what I write.
Anyway, enjoy the dramatic Batman lighting in the photo below. My arm muscles look a lot better in other photos, but I liked the lighting here a lot. And you get the idea because my muscles are still killin’ it even in this light.
Probabilities do not act like predictions.
Probabilities are useless for predicting single events.
Probabilities will never be predictions.
Stop trying to apply probabilities to futuring. pic.twitter.com/KkMyydONNy— Milena Rodban (@MilenaRodban) October 27, 2021
This is what I was getting at in this post where I was arguing against probability as most people use it and understand it. I think in some ways the Medieval thinkers and prior had a better understanding of probability than we did — in that, they really didn’t at all so did not misapply it as we do constantly.
Someone made a comment a while ago that Congress was so apathetic about eliminating phone spam that the only solution people felt was available to them was to just stop using the telephone altogether and it completely destroyed a technology. https://t.co/Ad5ovT0i9I

A fountain of lava more than half a kilometre tall.
It looks incredibleโbut not really surprising when you consider the pressure magma is under even at shallow depths in the crust.
Think how heavy the ground is. Then add gases to the magma. And you get… this โ https://t.co/EOpZ9adJba
