Your Own Good

Have a conspiracy-ish feeling about the South Africa variant. It being “discovered” now when the world was somewhat getting back to normal feels a little like too much.

Wonder if it’s not just going to be an excuse to lock the world back down again so the plutocrats can suck up the rest of the wealth they have not yet managed to claim. I bet the vaccines do work against it, but we’ll have “no choice” but to go back to prison countries/lockdowns in most places.

Bill and Jeff and Mark aren’t quite rich enough yet. Libs are happy to help them with that. They live for it, and for telling us how they have to hurt us for our own good.

Death Cu(l)ts

The pandemic and the “need” for lockdowns was used as the excuse to destroy so many public services, public provisions and small/medium-sized businesses, and the liberals want to…just keeping doing that in perpetuity?

That’s a death cult there.

The same with anti-vax, anti-masking “conservatives.” More death cult thinking, except in the form of some idiotic notion of freedom that not even a dog would buy.

Goods

The left and right have both become humanity-hating death cults. They themselves don’t put it that way, of course. One wants to destroy your life and happiness “for your own good” and the other for your soul or for what will make some Daddy (Big Sky/Trump/etc.) most pleased.

But neither wants what’s best for you or even for society. This is a sign of failed ideologies. It’s not their fault, in a way. They just have nothing superior to work with, nothing more applicable and no better way to form a world much-changed into a comprehensible configuration.

Some new ways of thinking are gestating, but will they be in time? Will it matter? That’s the test now.

Seasoning

People don’t seem to realize just yet that Covid is largely seasonal. When folks spend more time outside, Covid infections go way down. Then, winter comes, and infections skyrocket. Yet I continue to see shocked and puzzled headlines about this even though it’s completely fucking obvious.

Yes, this even applies to India, because when Delta swept that country it was monsoon season, when people spend much, much more time inside.

Nyctophobia

I wrote something similar to the below to a friend a few minutes ago.

I think a lot of people do enjoy living in fear. “Enjoy” is not the best word, but I cannot think of a better one just yet. They feel it’s comfortable, at least, and like it. Covid really exposed this, but I think there’s a lot of these types, and not just on the left: the preppers (mostly right-wing) are another example.

Man, I hate them.
