Angie, libs don’t know anything about trade-offs. They fight all battles with the blazing glory of absolute moral certitude, no compromises possible, no examination of other paths, and definitely no talking back.

Every time you complain that their terrible policies harmed your children, why, that’s more than a dozen grammas killed right there.

And the Dems are shocked that they are going to lose the next few elections.

Myth busting thread: Vaccines *do* reduce transmission- even with delta. Anyone who says otherwise (and I've seen many scientists say this recently to rationalise not vaccinating children!) is misinterpreting the evidence. Let me explain

Generally good thread, and pushes back against the liberal “The vaccines don’t work!” stuff, but the vaccines do actually reduce transmission (yes, even with Delta) in the infected by lower viral load, shorter infection period, and fewer viable viral particles in the upper respiratory tract.

So, not quite accurate. But does get the idea across that the vaccines actually do work. This is about the closest to truth we can probably expect out of even our best experts today, so good enough.

If you carry a gun anywhere outside of an actual combat zone, the only thing it’s protecting is your ego.

It puts you and everyone around you at greater risk, and if anyone serious shows up, who do you think they are they going to kill first? The person with the gun as they are the biggest threat.

Guns won’t solve your problems, and they will mostly get taken from you unless you are a stone-hearted killer. Most people aren’t that. Leave the gun at home and live a long life.

I miss the old days, when only schizophrenics suspected that inanimate objects were listening to them and/or sending them secret messages. Now it’s real.

EU calls for calm amid violent COVID protests across Europe.

Why are so many European countries doing this to themselves? They are breaking their own compact with their citizens and it’ll long-term result in reduced vaccine and booster uptake and more deaths. And when the next pandemic hits, it’ll be so much worse.

Much of the discontent, however, is targeted at politicians who had promised that vaccinations would bring freedom. With the Delta variant making sure contagion remains rampant, EU governments are being forced to reimpose constraints and — in some countries — slap tougher restrictions on the nonvaccinated.

Notice that language: “forced,” as it’s not a choice.

So as everyone is acknowledging, the problem is with the unvaccinated, but restrictions are being placed on the entire populace in most places. What sort of sense does this make? This tells you it’s not really about the pandemic at all.

Resist lockdown now or you won’t have a chance later. It was a very, very bad idea to emulate something innovated by an authoritarian government (China) in a panic as a permanent “pandemic” solution. Very bad indeed.

Germany making a terrible mistake.

The renewed restrictions mark a painful turn for Europe’s governments that had pledged not to restrict freedoms for the vaccinated as an incentive for residents to get vaccines.

The vaccinated death rate is, what, around 0.02% or so? And that’s all ages and if you get infected, which is far less likely if you’re vaxxed. If you restrict this analysis to the under 50s, it’s like 0.001% or something absurd like that. Is it worth destroying so much? If so, can someone explain why? Why can libs not think about this sanely?

Time to end all lockdowns and restrictions now on the vaccinated everywhere. Else, what was the fucking point?
