Postcaution

Same. Covid is very likely to be mild or asymptomatic for me if I catch it. For all I know, I might’ve already had it since I don’t take nearly as many precautions anymore and I have been traveling a lot.

It’s life. Get on with it.

Way They Are

Omicron Is the Beginning of the End. No matter the severity of the variant, the appetite for shutdowns or other large-scale social interventions simply isnโ€™t there.

In that sense, the spring of 2020 will be remembered as one of the most extraordinary periods in historyโ€”a time when people completely withdrew from social life to slow the spread of a dangerous pathogen. But what was possible for a few months has turned out to be unsustainable for years, let alone decades.

Isn’t it amazing that there are people who wanted to continue various states of lockdown for years, and some wanted it essentially forever? How did those people get the way they are? Glad we resisted them.

No Static

Fuckin’ A.

I guess some small part of me will always be a nerd, but these days I got muscles on my muscles, my partner is amazing, girls wanna talk to me, and I have enough money to do what I want. It’s so much better; my life is hella awesome. Nerdhood left behind; intelligence retained.

If you can’t transform, what’s the point? Stasis is death. My life rocks. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Get It

My advice is that if you’re vaccinated and boosted, live your fucking life. Do what you wanna do. Get loose, go wild, whatever. There’s a reason you went to the effort to get vaxxed.

You only have one life; fucking live it.

Demo It

โ€˜Life is too short to be miserable.โ€™

Good for this person. We’ve asked young people to take on an incredible burden to mostly protect obese over-70s. And now it’s to protect unvaccinated people, which is vastly more intolerable. It’s time to stop this.

For my part, I am now planning, if personal circumstances and University policy allow it, to avoid Stanford in January and live my life in ways that are more personally fulfilling to me than moping around in a dorm room. I hope to travel somewhere warm, spend time with my aging parents, and live a lifestyle unencumbered by COVID restrictions to the fullest extent allowed under the law of whatever jurisdiction I decide to travel to.

That’s the way to do it. Let the bed-hiders remain under their beds for eternity. Fuck ’em.
