The new CDC-recommended quarantine period seems about right, given the science? Not sure why everyone is complaining about it. It matches pretty well we know about likelihood of transmission, etc.
No one actually “believes the science” or whatever BS various groups spout. It’s all some political game. Anyway, it hardly matters; omicron is the end of the pandemic. By spring or early summer 2022, it’ll all be over.

I’ve been skeptical of that cognitive decline Covid study for a variety of reasons, but here someone does an actual deep dive…and it’s a big nothing. People intubated — no matter the cause — get brain damage. No shock there. Otherwise, Covid seems to not do much.

I can see why Don’t Look Up got bad reviews, most often from standard-issue centrist “liberals.” The film really skewers them and their worldview rather brutally. It doesn’t spare others, either, but dang it sure does just eviscerate them.
It even makes indirect reference to the thing that got Andrew Cuomo canned was not that he killed thousands in nursing homes, but that he might’ve touched a staff member inappropriately.
By the way, I thought Don’t Look Up was great. Perfect satire.
