The vaccines definitely work because I’ve honestly been walking around like YOLO, doing what I want, and have certainly been exposed to Omicron given the number of people I’ve come into incidental contact with.
And nothing. So glad I got vaxxed. That’s exactly why I got the jab.

Zero Covid was always completely delusional and it certainly has become a religion, alas. It’s kind of a shock in a way that people still believe it, but I guess they do. Some-fucking-how.
The “science” of Long Covid is a good example of this too. According to the Long Covid panickers, all basing their beliefs on the results of a lot of flaky studies and some Twitter anecdotes, Long Covid has a very high prevalence, decreases your IQ to that of a snail, kids get it at (somehow) a 250% rate, and the vaccines do nothing against it or even Covid itself. Because SCIENCE!!!!! (Believe it!)
Covid sucks. But being realistic about it is a better option and hurts far fewer people.
We should follow the science about schools is now grounds for cancellation on the left. Like the plot was lost so far back we can't even retrace our steps.

The “believe science” crap was always a culture war signal for the left. They happened to be (somewhat) accidentally right for a while on some topics and completely wrong on others (zero covid fantasies, etc.). Science was just a tool to drub their enemies, mainly those who weren’t in a full-blown panic about Covid 24/7.

One of the reasons that so many people justifiably do not listen to experts is how often they are obviously lying to you. However, unfortunately, most people are also not capable of evaluating evidence so they do even dumber things in response, like not getting vaccinated.
