Spoiler alert: this would not end the pandemic.
This also reminds me of how progressive urbanist Twitter includes some of the most virulently pro-lockdown figures. It makes zero sense…your system is built on faith and trust in the functioning of the public commons, which won't happen if you're shutting down every 3 months! https://t.co/Sh2FG1YPMR

Yeah.
Progressive: *destroys society, breaks social contract*
Also progressive: Huh, I wonder why there’s no social cohesion, all the businesses are closed, everyone has mental health problems and no one wants universal anything anymore. It’s a mystery. “It wasn’t me; it was the pandemic!”
Are there anything our liberals today aren’t afraid of? They’re terrified of being offended, of sex, of going outside, of even the damn air. I mean, at least they’ll get vaccinated. There’s that. It’s something.
It seems like clickbait but it is actually true: how often this cube appears to โswitchโ orientation for you is correlated with your ability to come up with innovative ideas in divergent thinking tasks. (The average person sees 12-13 switches per minute) https://t.co/7YQmv7s5so pic.twitter.com/vEAjZfPBGl

Uh oh. It basically never switches for me. I think I’ve seen that happen once or twice…in my entire life.
There are people who think Zero Covid could still be a thing, or ever was a good idea?
Huh. Takes all kinds I guess.
Emirates’ Terrifying Boeing 777 Flight To Washington.
So they didn’t follow the pre-flight checklist and also weren’t really looking at their fucking instruments while taking off. Doing 210+ knots on the ground? What the FUCK! Pull back on the yoke!
BTW, I think the rated tired speed of most of those 777s is around 205 knots, so they just got fucking lucky some or all of the tires didn’t explode. Even then, they still most likely would have been able to take off, but landing would’ve been a whole other issue.
I have never been as afraid of anything as people with very low risk are afraid of Covid.
And I’ve jumped out of planes, people have attempted to stab me twice, I’ve had loaded guns pointed at me in anger more than once and I’ve been in dozens of fights.
So…yeah.
The Yudkowsky-Moore Law of Mad Science: “Every 18 months, the minimum IQ necessary to destroy the world drops by one point.”
โ Patrick Collison (@patrickc) October 4, 2015
It also takes motivation to want to destroy, which not many high-IQ people have.
But yeah, give me $5 million and two years, I could make a virus that kills 90% of humanity. I don’t even think it’d be that hard considering what is already published on the internet. I have absolutely no interest in doing that, but someday soon someone smart will.
These days, I don’t think it’s related as much to IQ, even. Anyone with an IQ above 120 could do what I mentioned up there. It’s more a matter of funding. Now, it’d cost $5 million and you’d need a staff (10-15 people). In 15 years, it’ll cost $500,000, and you will be able to do it alone. That’ll make the most difference.
When I moved in with my husband it was in a wall tent, on cow camp, in a remote canyon on the Mescalero reservation. People thought he was crazy but all he had to say to them was that I lived in tents and campers in a different cow camp for 2 1/2 years. https://t.co/gtYIhS17MD

Women are attracted to men who do crazy shit. Good or bad crazy shit; both work. It’s not the crazy shit, though, it’s the confidence of doing it. Doing crazy shit almost guarantees a girlfriend.
Does not apply to PMC women, though. They want to be attracted to it, but aren’t, really. The “completely safe” mentality kills their libido, anyway, and makes them boring in all other ways too, so who gives a rip.
I see โWithout downloading any new pics, whatโs your energy going into 2022?โ is making the quote tweet rounds.

I thought it’d be around as a pandemic 2-3 years. It’ll be mostly over (except lockdown lifer caterwauling) by spring or early summer 2022.
Never stop retweeting this. https://t.co/HlukmZcGQc

Wonder how much better we could’ve done if the Chinese hadn’t suppressed knowledge of the pandemic for weeks? Probably not that much better honestly, but on net this was still very bad indeed.
In Ada Palmer’s Terra Ignota world, I’d probably want to be a Humanist, but would actually be a Utopian.
That said, the Utopians got done dirty and I hated the ending.
My New Yearโs offering to you is this poem my son made, with a bit of help, in the first part of 2020.
One day soon indeed. Every good wish to you and yours. ❤️⛄️🙏🏾 pic.twitter.com/pVDBU3dBlj

That so many “liberals” are against these things even in principle now means they are gonna lose big even where it matters and they’re right. But they did it to their fucking selves. So. Fuck ’em.
