i just found out croque monsieur just means “mister crunchy.” i don’t know what i thought it meant but french people ordering a mr crunchy is just too fucking funny to me.

Eh, not really at all. Very naïve literal translation. That’s how a non-French speaker might translate it. But that’s not how it feels in French. Anyway, it better translates as “crunchy man” or “crunchy gentleman.” But that’s still only half accurate because it really translates as a complete nominative designation for the sandwich it in fact is.

Anyway, in reality, without a hyphen “croque monsieur” is slang for “hot guy” in (most) French places and the sandwich would be (le) “croque-monsieur.” So there’s that.

You only do not have to worry about grades when you are very exceptional in some other important way. Otherwise, you better be concerned with them.
