Grades measure a student's capacity to work effectively within the system.
Anyone who doesn't think that that capacity is a strong predictor of life outcomes is going to have a rough go of it.

You only do not have to worry about grades when you are very exceptional in some other important way. Otherwise, you better be concerned with them.
