Six Days Afloat in the Everglades.
This is the only article I have ever seen where every single species of Florida wildlife is identified correctly. Kudos for that. Never happened before.

Got to start them early in these here United States. Else they don’t learn.

Smart in the real world is what you actually fucking do in the real word. You can see here why the PMC is so damn useless. They will be shouting their SAT score while Putin is making utter fools of them.
Putin an effective leader who achieves the goals of Russia more often than not — which is far more than can be said of most Western leaders. “Smart” is what you fall back on when you’re about to be defeated.

That’s it; nuke ’em.
This past April– amidst confusing rhetoric from the CDC, Fauci, etc, about what vaccinated people were 'allowed' to do– I saw this poster at a local Walgreens, and it showed exactly how to sell the vaccines to people.
Simple, effective.
But the official messaging wasn't. https://t.co/TIrt0RTYIM pic.twitter.com/xTPT7u3zby

Yeah, this was an incaculably enormous mistake in messaging. Just a huge liberal unforced error. The vaccines are the best solution to the pandemic, and telling people in agonizing detail all the things they are still not allowed to do after being vaccinated is just daft in the extreme. Probably meant at least 100,000+ more deaths, at the very least, because why get vaccinated if it changes nothing?
How so many could be so clueless boggles my mind.
Being an ugly woman is so painful.
I feel bad for this woman. It doesn’t have to be this way for her. The standard advice would work for her: go out, join clubs, meet people. Eventually someone you like will be into you too.
I’ve dated absurdly beautiful women and women most people would consider ugly. After a few weeks, trust me, you don’t even notice because you see the personality and not the outward aspects. Most guys are this way! Not all, but a bare majority for sure. And guys generally care about looks even less as they get older, mostly because they become less concerned about what their friends think.
One of the funniest experiences of dating a very beautiful woman, though, still makes me laugh. She was dressed to the nines and looked amazing and also was a good bit taller than me (even without heels). We were going to a fancy restaurant and we approached the maitre d’s stand. As she put her arm in mine, he took a look at me, took a look at her, and said, “Wait, she’s with you?”
With perfect timing, my date said, “I know, he’s doing me such a favor. He usually doesn’t date down but he said ‘just this one time….'”
Seeing the look on that smug maitre d’s face was so great. She was as fast as I am with that sort of thing, if not quicker. The restaurant was very good; the maitre d’, however, was a total shithead.
I wonder how long it’ll be before the wokesters claim even looking at art from another culture is cultural appropriation?
I am quite sure it’s already happened, but I just haven’t noticed it yet.
Big study of ~70k Covid cases showing Omicron's far lower severity of outcomes vs Delta
Symptomatic hospitalisation -53%
Median hospital stay length -70%
ICU admission -74%
Mortality -91%Major effects among both vaccinated and unvaccinated patients.https://t.co/xxxlYanRVL pic.twitter.com/3fsdd1OLIR
— Mike Bird (@Birdyword) January 12, 2022
And you still have Ian Welsh and many other Covid panickers writing that Omicron is the MOST SEVEREST DISEASE EVAR!!!!!
It’s just incomprehensible. If Omicron had the severity they claim, 10,000+ people would’ve been dying a day during the current and receding wave in the US. Covid has shown me definitively that 99%+ of people will just lie to protect their ideology. Their political alignment doesn’t matter at all. That’s just how the vast majority of people work.
NEW: All 3 Republicans running for Attorney General of Michigan just said they oppose Griswold v. Connecticut, which outlawed prosecuting married couples for using contraception. The 1965 decision is the basis for the right to privacy and led to Roe v. Wade and marriage equality.
— No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen (@NoLieWithBTC) February 19, 2022
The Republican covert goal all along has been to make contraception illegal again. That anyone could observe them and conclude anything else is just absurd. Controlling women is their animus.

feels like we're at most six weeks out from "it's actually very problematic, abuse-coded, and grooming-ajacent for adults to read books with child protagonists, and vice versa" discourse

DUAL CF CARDS OVER PCI? pic.twitter.com/p54tO3BqCF
— foone (@Foone) February 21, 2022
This is for booting up virtualization OSes like the VMWare OS with redundancy, so if one card fails the other one takes over transparently.
Have used these very often. Extremely useful and much faster/cheaper than a spinning or SSD drive, especially when SSDs were new.
Dang shit is expensive y’all.
I put gas in my car and it was $72. Yes, it does take premium (And don’t even argue with me here. It says so right in the fucking manual; I don’t drive a Civic. It’s a performance car.), but not that long ago I was filling it up for $50.
Everything that average-income people spend most of their money on is much more expensive, about 25% more or so from what I’ve seen. Only going to get worse from here, too.
So much for that “transitory” inflation! Anyone not deranged knew that was horseshit months ago anyway.
Something about covid gave people a license for completely antisocial and terrible behavior. It was already underway before but covid, and the way we framed it, really really accelerated some ugly social fallout Iโm afraid.

It’s the renascence of religion feeling perpetuating itself in and through nominally secular forms. It’s not a specific creed, but a general religious expression that liberals have long denied themselves as “irrational.”
A lot of people really want to be Church Ladies (even if they are men), but in many places and US subcultures there’s not a well-established role for that any longer. A lot of what you see is people reinventing this avocation from scratch — and it’s no more pleasant when it’s the libs doing it, either.
I need to scream in to the internet about my wife.
This guy is FUCKED. If he gets a divorce, there is a really good chance that the slobgoblin who is his wife will get full custody of the two kids. So those kids don’t have a chance either way.
This is exactly why I have never been married and one of the main reasons I’ve never wanted to have kids. You never know what or who someone is going to turn into. I saw this with my own mother and it was equally disturbing.
Seems to be getting worse. I don’t even know how they find me, but 2-3 recruiters contact me weekly with jobs that pay 50%+ more than I make now. Trouble is, I have a pretty sweet gig and don’t want to leave where I’m working currently so the pay bump is not really that tempting. It wouldn’t improve my life and it would mean I’d be working a lot more in 99% of cases.
But it’s always good to know I could walk out of somewhere and have a job a week later, even if I have no plans to do such a thing.
