The left on women and gender is so bizarre.

“Gender doesn’t exist and biology doesn’t exist but trans women are real women (which isn’t real) and biology means that women are very different than men, though it doesn’t exist, and claiming it’s hypocritical when we say that biology exists only when we want it to exist is sexist and racist, and also imperialist. Also, gender is so real while not being real that anyone can change gender at any time and it becomes a real fake real gender. Animals that have very different biologies and chromosomes prove somehow that human biology doesn’t have a generally heterogametic and homogametic pattern, even though biology isn’t real of course. Also, women should be treated as super-special snowflakes despite biology and gender being fake while they are also treated completely equally.

And if you don’t believe/disbelieve any and all of that exactly when I want you to believe it/not believe it, then you are canceled.”

Makes total sense. They think.

Goddamn, why is the Ukrainian army considering any counteroffensive now? That’s also bad strategy. They shouldn’t go making similar mistakes to the Russians. They’ve been in combat for a month. There will not be significant relief. Those fighting are exhausted and need a break.* A counteroffensive starts playing into the Russian capabilities and totally against what the Ukrainians can currently be good at.

The Ukrainians should continue their harassing and supply line attacks, fight opportunistically, using mainly guerrilla methods, and let the Russians continue to fight poorly and exhaust themselves. A counteroffensive might sound macho and cool on paper, but it’s a total mistake, especially now.

*Pretty good studies show a soldier’s combat effectiveness starts going sharply downhill after about a month in. This is why I was laughing at the Russian Army due to their near-100% personnel commitment. Totally unsustainable.

Same. I’m not on a team. Fuck your team. I’m on a mission. What Jon talks about is also why I am completely opposed to liberalism in most forms, and any currently-practiced form. (The whole thread is good, by the way.)

There is not yet a viable replacement is the problem I am having, as there are many good things that liberalism developed but then abandoned or perverted to useless causes utilizing worthless methods. It is already in failure mode and can’t be saved, however. That is the larger problem.

Above the age of majority, age matters less than most people imagines it does. Proclivities, personality and intelligence matter far more. But because we assign age such high value against all evidence, it thus matters far more than it otherwise would. We create the meaning by thinking it has meaning in a self-reinforcing loop.

I’ve met 20-year-olds with the maturity and wisdom of those forty years their elder. And I’ve met people like my mom who acted like a six-year-old her entire life.

Things that are easy to quantify we’ll assign much higher importance to than they otherwise would have, and ignore all else. (And it doesn’t help that very many older women generally absolutely despise younger ones and will treat them like trash at every opportunity; but that is a whole ‘nother topic.)

When readers (who haven’t actually read the work 99% of the time) tell you something is flawed, here is the proper response: “Fuck you. Read something else then. Get the fuck out of here and I hope the door hits you on the ass on the way out and you fall on your stupid fucking clown face.”

Same. I hate writing by hand and see no reason to do it. It’s difficult to use anywhere else, my handwriting is terrible, and it is inevitably lost quickly. It’s just an enormous waste of time.

I haven’t written by hand much since the 1980s, and even then I avoided it as much as possible.

Parts of the 1980s were strange. Very weird stuff went mainstream in a way that it could not now, because there almost is no mainstream and we’re too prudish to admit the weird. Also, younger millennials and Gen Z think they invented gender play and bizarrely-colored hair but none of that is at all new.
