Don’t be misled: the Ukrainians can win many military victories against Russian forces and still lose, lose, lose. This is the most probable case. This is just how it is when you’re fighting an enormous military that has no plans on withdrawal.

Also, winning social media sentiment does nothing to help with battlefield victories. Look at what’s happening on the ground in reality, not in PMC chattering land.

I too played with Lightwave 3D back in the late 1990s. That software was an utter mess. I spent two weeks on some tutorial or guide and in the end I could produce nothing. Never figured out even the bare basics of how to use that turd.

Guess it’s forgotten now, and good riddance.

Anathem is Neal Stephenson’s best book, and the only one with a non-bungled ending, but if you don’t deeply love philosophy you probably won’t like that work.

I think that PMC libs (which are the majority these days, and the ones with any influence) see sex as always an exercise of power because that is how they use it and mainly why they have sex. It’s never about pleasure or blowing off steam for them, or if it is, that is at most a tertiary concern. Well, it’s not impossible, but it is fucking stupid. Who would fly them? Piloting an A-10 is in no way like flying a MiG. We’d also send the Ukrainians pilots? Congratulations, then you’re in a direct shooting war with Russia.

Do people think about this stuff for just a single second before they spout off?

Was troubleshooting an issue with a team member today so she could learn how to be better at troubleshooting. She said something like, “You do this all so fast. I have no idea how you just know what to do so quick.”

Readers, I did not tell her this, but I was going at less than 1/10 my normal speed so she could see what I was doing. To quote the esteemed philosopher Vanilla Ice, “If there was a problem, yo, I’ll solve it.” And not slowly, either.
