I really do think a whole buncha PMC type libs believe deeply that both corporations and algorithms love them.

Mata
Very poor tactics displayed by this Russian armored force so close to Kyiv. They're well within range of Ukrainian artillery in Kyiv, they're on an obvious avenue of approach, and they still decided to bunch up like this, leaving them more vulnerable to indirect fire. pic.twitter.com/3ShhyF5OsE

Amateurish….
The Mind
The same people who complain about a gerontocracy on here will be like: Who cares if children learn to read or not? School: meh. Youtube+staring out the window is just as good.

Witnessing actual (at least so-called) progressives claim this — apparently earnestly — has been mind-boggling. And it was not an uncommon occurrence.
Fold
One pretty useful trend weโll see in the coming years is employers that have the best policies on hybrid and remote work are going to absolutely feast on the talent of employers who donโt https://t.co/NEBivDAxSr

Agreed. It’s already happening. It’s going to get worse. A lot of businesses are going to fold or do much worse for just this reason.
The Numbs
FYI to successfully conquer and occupy a nation as large as Ukraine, you’d need about a million troops total (including reserves). The Russians went in with 200,000 and are basically using them all.

Hot damn. That’s gonna hurt.
Five To One
I would QT my early October 2021 argument on here w/ a famous economist where this person insisted to me, using many charts & graphs, that "supply chain crisis" was a media + GOP plot, or how inflation worries a similar plot, but somethings are for me to enjoy privately. 😏

I remember those days. It was “common knowledge” back then among the soi-disant intelligentsia. I said they were wrong at the time and of course they were. As I often say, it does not take a genius to see the obvious; just eyes.

Thucydides takes a dump on your sensitivity readers.
C Land
When I see people talk about “Putin’s surprise attack” on Ukraine, I feel like I am living in Crazyland. What surprise attack? What was the surprise? The only surprise is how poorly the Russian armed forces have done, and I didn’t expect much.
Envy Hurts
I hesitate to go down this route as it can turn to meanness, but I do think one of the reasons for the increasing (and irrational) complaints of “sexualization” when women are wearing just fairly normal workout or performance clothes is that a lot of women are now obese and not very attractive and very upset that other women do in fact look good in those outfits.
It’s always a lot easier to harm someone else and take something away from them than it is to improve yourself. Always. Of course most people — women included — would go that route.
You’d see far fewer complaints about “sexualization” of women wearing what are honestly fairly plain outfits if so many women weren’t heffalumps.
QR Go
QR Codes replacing paper menus as the default option at restaurants might be the single best example of a supposed technological advancement simply making things far, far worse & more complicated with literally no tangible benefit to the consumer whatsoever.

Preach on, brother.
The Danger
The Russian invasion is entering its dangerous phase for us now. Russia is realizing it can’t win as it hoped, there is much aid pouring in from around the world to Ukraine, much of it lethal, and sanctions are biting hard.
If the conflict widens into a Russia-NATO war it’ll happen in the next 2-3 weeks. If it doesn’t happen by that time, it probably never will.
I’d give this widened conflict about a 20% chance of occurring. Way too high.
Ath
Damn. That’s some athleticism. She was or is a gymnast, guaranteed.
Do The Thing
This is one of 9 reports that consistently show ~50% or greater reduction of Omicron infections with a booster shot compared with 2-dose vaccine
And the protection vs hospitalizations/deaths is much higher; vaccine effectiveness~90% with a booster#VaccinesWork vs Omicron. pic.twitter.com/AHakJk6aBI— Eric Topol (@EricTopol) March 9, 2022
This is what should be emphasized, along with getting better ventilation and air quality in place everywhere. Liberals want to die on the fucking hill of masking because it’s a group identity thing. I get it. But do the smart thing, not the thing that makes you feel good. For fucking once.
