Even the little kaboom makes a big kaboom.

Studies Show

Dang. Yeah, was always super-suspicious of those studies that show that teens were overjoyed to sit inside doing nothing at all for months at a time, missing most of ther lives. Especially since I have had friends and acquaintances tell me things like, “Madison hasn’t been the same since she missed most of the important events of her last two high schools years. She’s depressed and doesn’t want to leave her room.” And I don’t know many people!

“Studies show.” Yeah, studies can show anything. I care about what’s happening in the real fucking world.

Way

Good thread. He’s mostly correct. A Clinton-era liberal would now be described by many current “liberals” as right or often far-right. Since in many ways my views have not changed since the late 1990s, I guess that makes me on the right too to many people — though I certainly don’t identify myself that way.

There’s nothing wrong with evolving as the times do (one should!) but too much of the left now believes that biology isn’t real, that women’s sports should be destroyed, that no one needs love, sex, friendship, etc. And that many of them are perfectly content to destroy society to “prevent” a relatively-mild virus — well, I and many people want no part of any of that. It’s nothing I want to be associated with at all.

I’m not alt-right-, right-wing or even close to that. I’m not on any team. Fuck all teams. Keep me off them and keep them away from me. But what the modern left has become is a malformed bundle of self-contradictory beliefs that harm more people than it helps. No thank you.

Needs

It’s seriously bizarre what libs have claimed no one needs in the past few years. It started before the pandemic and then got worse when Covid hit, but according to them no one needs these things:

  • Love
  • Sex
  • Social Contact
  • Social Acceptance
  • Power over one’s life
  • Friendship
  • Education

I have no idea what kind of galactic-level crack these mooks have found to smoke, but it’s both entertaining and distressing.
