Among all humans, I think Iโm fairly short. Among other writers, a solid medium. But I also once did a charity event with my wifeโs PhD chemistry cohort and I was the tallest person involved by about a head. It was the best day of my life. https://t.co/6XjnqgwTFb

I was often the tallest or nearly the tallest person around when I was in China. I didn’t like it; I don’t like standing out. I am fine with my height. It made me try harder. I now rule very hard.
Tucker's forebears would have us living in a world without advanced computers, with music that has no beat, and with food that tastes like dried out wood chips. And that's the future he's peddling with this change-is-scary crap.

I agree, but unfortunately this is also the same world that a lot of the “woke” left wants.
Sounds reasonable to me. This is about total lack of respect. I’m fine with someone being late sometimes; stuff happens. But that is different.
Want to be cured of being late to anything? Join the army. ๐
Why do people care so much what they “identify” as? What difference does it make? It seems to me just to be one’s consumer branding, neoliberal swill applied to one’s life. I identify as “alive.” Good enough.
1/Many things about @adam_tooze's new op-ed in the New Statesman do not make sense to me. https://t.co/y1buwoYtB9

Another fallen to Russian propaganda. Tooze is German, so it sort of makes sense I guess — though his column does not at all. None of the claims have any basis in reality. They aren’t even self-consistent in the same column, which always bothers me when anyone does this, even people I agree with.
nothing is quite as smooth-brained as โthe US supporting Ukraine is just as bad as the US invading Iraqโ takes

Ian Welsh and many others believe this. Should put them in a Russian T-72 so they can fight alongside the “liberators” of Ukraine until a Javelin finds them.
I love the word “glacรฉ.” It’s got everything a word needs, in French or English.
